Hoppy Birthday~Mojo 56

Wow, this week has just flew by! I was hoping to have more time to get a few projects done, but no such luck...go, go, go all week!! Well I did make a point to make a card for a young man who's birthday is next month. You can read all about it right here.

Anyway, I used Mojo Monday Sketch # 58 for my layout and a Billy Stamp Set from Pink Cat Studio. CS is SU Wild Wasabi and TLC pp, colored Billy in with my Copics and well, that's about all!!
I really like this set for a boy, there is also a super hero, a cowboy and a pirate that is part of the same set!

Well, off I scoot, thanks for stopping in!!

Double Challenge- HHC5 & A Spoon Full!!

Yay!! I was able to make one card and combine 2 challenges for this week!! I love so many challenge blogs out there, but there really isn't enough time in the week for me to even try and get them all done, so it really helps when one card will cover 2 challenges!!
I used the sketch made by Katharina for the High Hopes Challenge #5 as well this card will work perfectly for A Spoon Full of Sugar's Challenge #23 which was to use sparkle and bling! Lots of stickles, and glitter on both patterned pieces of paper works for some sparkle for me!!

I kinda make a oopsie...my one dew drop should be below instead of to the left, but I already had glue there, so I just went with it! I used the brand new Holly the Winter Fairy from High Hopes, paper from DCWV Christmas Glitter Stack, star dust, orange peel and crystal ice stickles, liquid applique and white fun flock which looks so fun IRL, SU Wild Wasabi CS, cuttlebug for the white piece, ribbon from my friend Veronica, dew drops and my Copic markers...I think that about covers it!!
Here is the back where I put my personalization...
I hope you had a great day. Thank for visiting!!

Pepsi anyone?...

We had a great day yesterday! Took the kids swimming a the pool/wave pool and they had a hoot!! Kirsten is such a little fish and Landon...well he hangs on for dear life!!! Back to the pool this afternoon for Kirsten's swimming lessons too!!

We made this fun little project for our CTMH monthly get together using an empty pop can! It has super sharp edges though, but luckily Nikki cut all the tops off and made the cuts down the side so all we had to do was decorate them and roll the edges with a pencil...I had no problems, but it is very sharp!! Everything used..other than the empty pop can and raffia (sp?) is CTMH!!

I have my very own little Swiper (ya know Swiper the Fox from Dora!!) that lives here...Kirsten...any and every project I make for our CTMH night, is reclaimed very quickly by her!! This now takes up residence in her little scrapbook area!!

Thanks for popping in...I already almost done my card for this weeks High Hopes Challenge...wow...and it's only Monday!!

Have a fabulous afternoon/evening!

Playing Catch Up!

Over the past several weeks I have received lots of awards and/or tags, so I thought I would just take a few minutes and catch up on everything!! Here we go:

I received this award from Tara over at Inking on the Edge, thanks so much Tara, I think the same thing about your blog, awesome!!

This next one I received from 2 fabulous gals, Karin at Scrap Everything & Lacey at Hand Stamped By Lacey who both have amazing blogs themselves, go on over and check out their fantastic creations!! I love your blogs as well ladies, they are among my favs!!

Now, I am totally going to be a party pooper on this one from Carole at Stardust Gems & Ribbons & Debbie at Debbie's Doodles....I have been tagged twice before , so I will refer to these 2 posts: here and here cause I really don't think I can think of anything else interesting or totally random about myself!!

I just received this award the other day from my lovely SBS sister Lisa at Blessed Beyond Measure, thank you so much Lisa, your comments absolutely made my day!!

I've been tagged by my freind Nikki at Bunny-Zoes...a wee bit different one and I have never been tagged on this one, so here it goes:

Things I Love

  1. My husband, children, family & friends.
  2. Making anything crafty...Crafty Kelly is what my sister Kim calls me HA HA!!
  3. Music, country for the most part, but sometimes, my ears pick up some other funky tunes!!
  4. My DVR that records my fav shows like Grey's, Private Practice, Brothers & Sisters, etc that I have so many recorded that I'll need a couple weeks to catch up on them all!!
  5. Taking pictures, although I am a total rookie and I take way too many of anything really, but I just got a Canon Rebel for my birthday and I am really hoping to learn some great photo tips to take better pictures!

Things I Don't Love

  1. Onions
  2. Peas, I like Sweet Peas from the garden, but that's it...oh yes and I'll eat peas in Fried Rice, but that's it, no other peas in any other format!!
  3. When my kids are not getting along and their ears seem to be oblivious to me trying to get them to stop!
  4. When my husband eats leftovers cold...he'll eat anything cold: lasagna, spaghetti, whatever, he'll eat it before heating it up and it drives me nutty!
  5. Weird foods, I am absolutely not adventurous when it comes to food, I like tried and true yummy eats, nothing weird...sushi is included! My hubby loves it!!

Songs on your i-Pod-My favs right this minute would be-

  1. Best Days of Your Life-Kellie Pickler/Taylor Swift
  2. Start a Band-Brad Paisley/Keith Urban
  3. Do You Feel My Sunshine-Johnny Reid
  4. Feel That Fire-Dierks Bentley
  5. Don't Think I Don't Think About It-Darius Rucker

Favorite Food /Drinks

  1. Pepsi or Dr.Pepper
  2. Chicken Asparagus Lasagna...oh so fattening, but so yummy
  3. Maple Walnut Ice Cream
  4. Heaven Chocolate bar my SBS Sister Lainey sent me for my b-day
  5. Popcorn

Hmmm, well that seems to be all for right now!! Although I don't always get to them right away, I am so very grateful for each and every award/tag, etc that I receive. I have a little notebook by my computer and right it all down so I don' forget!

Thank you to each and every one of you that visit me on a regular basis and to those that visit and don't comment, love you too!!

We are taking the kids swimming this afternoon to work on a few things with Kirsten as she only has 3 lessons left, and to just have a fun family day together!!

Hope you've had a great weekend!

It's All About The Presents~Friday Sketchers #25

I love this stamp set from C.C. Designs and All That Scraps. I just got it yesterday and inked it up this morning to make a birthday card for DJ, a boy in Kirsten's class who's party was today!! I also ordered some Shimmerz after seeing all of the lovely creations Jennifer makes over at Cuppy Cake. I am so excited to use them!!
I used yesterdays Friday Sketchers Sketch Challenge #25 made by Claudia Rosa for my layout.
I used papers from TLC and colored the image with my Copics, used some brads from CTMH and Making Memories and my SU Photo Corner Punch.
I just picked Kirsten up from the party and she had a blast! Landon and Lance are having a little snooze, so I am going to scoot and let Kirsten have some computer time!
I have so many blog awards and such to catch up on and I hope to have it all done to post tomorrow:-)
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!!

Anything But~High Hopes Challenge #4

This is the project I made for this week's High Hopes Challenge-Anything But. The challenge was set out by Nikki . I was actually lucky enough to receive this folder for my birthday from Nikki, so I decided to measure it up and make my own!
Here is the folder all finished and closed up...
I decided to use some Basic Grey magnets to hold it together, so I just cut out some nesties circles and put the magnet piece in between the Barn Red circle and the Sweet Leaf scallop circle...

Accordion folded 2 pieces for the sides....

And finished up the back....

Now being the lucky girl I am, I got a yummy chocolate bar and some awesome stamped Hanglar Stanglar images in my folder, but you could put a few 3x3 note cards withenvelops, or stamped images or even pictures for Grandma...lots of fun things!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day!!

My Little Brown Cow

We were over at my parents house yesterday for a visit. My cousins from Utah were up, so we got together for supper and such. Anyway, the kids needed new helmets for skating that starts tomorrow and we went to town. We hopped over to Wally World to look at Halloween costumes and Landon got a brown cow outfit and Kirsten is going to be ...surprise, surprise...Hannah Montana! It is actually a really cute outfit and my Mom got her some funky black boots to go with it too.

Landon loves his brown cow costume so much so that it has been on his little body since this morning. I tried to convince him to take it off after lunch, but no way. I n about 2 minutes he was asleep and I thought I'd share this cute picture of my little brown cow:-)

I am working on a cute High Hopes project for the challenge this week, so I hope to be back with the finished product tomorrow:-)

Have a fabulous evening!!

~Kelly

***** Landon just woke up and has decided he needs to wear his outfit to town to go and get Kirsten at school...I need a few things at the grocery store too, so it'll be a hoot...only 9 days until Halloween, but whatever:-)******

Baby Card~Handmade by Kim

My sister Kim needed a couple baby cards for her friend Steph and Kippy who just welcomed Clara Jane into the world and for Steph's parents as well. This is the card she made for Steph and Kippy, the proud new parents!!

She used Taylor's Sketch # 38 for the layout and away she went. I think it turned out great and I love this Baby Girl Nursery stack from DCWV!! The flower brads look a little wonky for some reason, but I think it must just be the way the light reflects because they do look proper IRL!!

We've had a great weekend hanging out and visiting and such, so I am going to scoot and visit some more before she goes home.

Thanks for popping by!!

Happy-Friday Sketchers #24

I fianlly had a chance to use my new CTMH goodies I got last month when it was my hostess month!! I LOVE these new colors!!

I used sketch #24 from Friday Sketchers for my layout. Everything is from CTMH with the exception of Bethany Garden Angel and the flowers behind her which are from High Hopes.

I'm not really sure who this will be for so other than the words on the circle metal charm, I left off a sentiment. I can always use cards in my stash anyway!!

Off I scoot to hang out with my sister. She is actually making a card right now for her friend Steph who just had a beautiful baby girl...I have a frame project I need to get a move on too, but that'll have to wait for another day!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful afternoon/evening!

Thinking of You- For Billie

I enjoy following Christine David's CTMH blog and came upon this blog post from yesterday. So I thought I would make a card to send to Billie and her family. I used Julee's Mojo Madness Sketch #56 again and am really pleased with the results. Everything is SU other than the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, Cinnamon stickles and circle nesties.

I did finish the inside as well as the back of the card. I absolutely love Rach's blog, Papercrafts by Rach and since I just received my personalized stamps I thought I would CASE her idea for finishing the back. I love it!
That's all for me for today, I do have some awards to get posted as well and hope to do that tomorrow. My sister Kim is coming over tonight after work for a weekend sleepover, so I am really looking forward to that, as are the kids!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a lovely weekend!

My FABULOUS Costco purchase is....

Ok, this post is not in any way, shape or form related to making cards...so feel free to come on back when I have a card to share...or you can scroll on down and see my fun, new kitchen machine!!

This is what I bought today at Costco.......
...

...

...

...

A Kitchen Aid Professional HD Series Stand Mixer! I had the choice of Black, Red or this shiny silver one and I chose this one...our appliances are black and stainless steel and our counter tops are mostly black with a brown/grey fleck kinda thing, so I thought this one would look fabulous on my counter top..which is exactly where it's new home is...the only bad thing is we have under cabinet lighting and the trim that goes around the bottom of the cupboards to hide the cords, etc comes down too far that I have to tilt it to get it in there, but it's there!!

I am so excited to try it out!! I really hope to get some laundry piles out of the way tomorrow...it really is amazing how you can be gone for a long weekend and have enough laundry to catch up on for a month it seems!! Thenthe kida and I will bake up some cookies for when my sister Kim comes out on Friday night...let's see how many are actually left by then though:-)LOL!!

That's all I have for you for right now...my new toy!

Have a fantastic day and thanks for stopping by to see my new gadget..well not really a gadget because it is definitely not small, but I'll call it that for now!!

~Kelly

Pumpkins~Mojo 56

I had a chance to play tonight just for a quick bit. I used this weeks' Mojo Madness Sketch #56 , not only is this a terrific sketch, but you also have a chance to win a Verve stamp set of your choice.

I used this adorable stamp from High Hopes..and they just released some more amazing stamps to coordinate with the previous release...check them out if you have a chance....just click on online catalog and then type in HOTP (For Hot Off The Press) and about page 6 out of 10 is where they start!

I love this paper by SU, it is called Sweet Always and it was part of a RAK from my friend Dawn. When I first got my Copics I asked what people used for paper and she mentioned Georgia Pacific paper, well of course you can't get that at our Wal Marts here in Canada, so she sent me some along with the most beautiful card (I will take a pict soon!!) and some of this yummy paper!!

My sister just went to Sandpoint this past weekend and got me 3 packages of Georgia Pacific paper, so I should be good for a while and can re-pay Dawn!!

Landon and I are off to Costco today...just wait until I show you what I get to buy...I am crossing my fingers they have them in stock!!

Have a fabulous day!!

Last One For The Troops

Here is the last card for my stash I sent to the Canadian Troops.

I made 32 altogether plus a few boo boos , but ended up sending 30. I'm really happy with the way they all turned out. Once again I used a sketch from Sheetload. They are so easy to use, especially for mass producing cards, so it worked out great!! I usually only make cards as I go and every one is very much individual, so it was much easier on my brain to get all the measurements from Sheetload than to have to measure everything and then cut and then do all over again:-)
Well, it's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, so first off I would like to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Canadian friends! We are off to a wedding that is actually tomorrow, but it's about 4 hours or so away, so Lance is going to leave work a bit early so we can head out. The wedding is tomorrow and then we are going to a horse sale on Sunday. So I won't even be home until Sunday night, we are then having Lance's Dad for Thanksgiving dinner on Monday.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Whiff Of Joy Challenge # 3

Well for some reason or another time ran away on me and I wasn't able to participate in the first 2 challenges, but I managed to get the 3rd one done today! So for the Whiff of Joy Challenge #3, it was a fantastic sketch by Heather. My image is a bit big, so you can't see all the other layers as well, but I really love this paper, which by the way was an awesome RAK from the oh-so-very-talented Dawn-Treasure Oiler Designz.

I finished the inside of this card as well because I really wanted to put a sentiment on it and ran out of room on the front. I used All Occasions by Little Paper Shop, which is such a versatile set, I love it!!

I made this card for my sister Kristy who just got engaged on Friday!! Congratulations Kristy & Jason!! I'm so excited and can't wait to see her "rock" tonight!! She sometimes checks out my blog, but hopefully today won't be one of those days...if so, just be surprised tonight when I give it to you ok!!

We are off to my parents for the night as we (my Dad, Kim, Kristy, Jason and myself) are going to see Johnny Reid in concert. I'm quite excited as he is playing 3 sold out shows and it is a small venue, only 500 people, so it will be awesome!! We have dinner reservations first and then the concert and my Mom is hanging out with Kirsten & Landon, so they'll have a hoot too!!

Have a super day and thanks for visiting!

Best Wishes~Little Paper Shop Sketch#1

For World Card Making Day this past Saturday, Julia from Little Paper Shop put up some fabulous sketch challenges that are running until this Saturday. You have a chance to win a stamp set from the new October release. Here is Challenge #1 and the sketch I used for my card.

My card ended up being 5.5 x 5.5 because my main image is so large, but I am really happy with they way it turned out. Good friends of mine are finally getting married on Saturday...they have been together over 11 years and have 2 great kids, so they are finally tying the knot...Congrats Steve & Angela!! This card is for them as their wedding colors are pink and chocolate brown! I really love this paper, More To Adore by CMTH, it's so pretty! I love this cute couple from Magnolia too, they are just adorable.
Off I scoot to go and get my daughter from school and grab the mail!
Have a fabulous night!
~Kelly

#2 for the Troops

Here is card #2 for the troops. Once again I used Sheetload so that it was easier to mass produce something and not have to worry about measurements...I usually just eyeball things, so this was much easier...just get all your coordinating papers, cut as per diagrams and assemble!!

I used CTMH Let It Snow for the craft white and Kaleidoscope embossed snowflakes on Pacific Point CS. I punched a piece of Bazzill Navy paper with my threading waters punch and sprayed it with Snowflake Glimmer Mist, so with the glimmer mist and kaleidoscope embossing, it's really funky!! Stamped the SU sentiment from So Many Sayings, used the SU scallop circle punch and popped it up on dimensionals. Added ribbon and "Joy" from the Snowflake Spot by SU and voila...They turned out really pretty IRL.

Kirsten has picture day today, so what an ordeal that has been....pickin' out clothes, her hair had to be straightened and she finally narrowed down what Hannah Montana shirt she is going to wear!! She's not even 6, can you image when she's 16!!

Hope you all have a fabulous day...don't forget to enter my blog candy here...I'll draw the winner at 8pm tonight and post in the morning:-) Good luck!

Cards For The Troops #1

I did manage to get some cards made on Saturday for World Card Making Day and these are some of them! My friend Nikki invited me (I wasn't able to make it out, but I made them at home instead), but I did make a total of 32 cards for our Canadian Troops overseas who won't be home for the holidays. This way they will have a chance to send a nice hand made card home to their loved ones. Considering all they're doing for our country, it's the least I could do in return and I had a lot of fun too!!
So here is the first set I made....I used the same papers and layout, which by the way is from Sheetload, I forget exactly which month as I ended up using 3 different ones. I just changed the ribbons, sentiment and CB folder for each one...so 3 of the same but yet a bit different....

and this one...

and finally this one...

I made 6 each of these 3 designs. The red textured cardstock actually matches really well IRL, but for some reason it is jumpin' out at ya in this pict.

Off I scoot for now, but I will be back with the other 2 Cards for the Troops in the next day or so!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to enter my blog candy...up at the top right of my blog:-)

Have a super day!!

My Budding Artist

Look at the fabulous creations my almost 3 year old made me.....
.
.
.
.
.
.

Now I'm sure you're laughing hysterically by now...and trust me my first thought was NOT laughter! He also decided to color himself with the same black marker he used not only on the walls and the doors, but on the carpet and lazy boy chair as well!! It actually came off pretty easily...thank goodness!! The top one is actually on paper and the next 2 are the walls and doors.

So I was upstairs making him lunch and he was down in the basement watching Spirit...I thought I would just peek in on him right before his KD was done and this was the lovely treat I got!!

Hope you have a wonderful day!!

High Hopes & Friday Sketchers Challenge

High Hopes just released 50 of the cutest images...go on over and check them out here and then head on over to the brand spankin' new High Hopes Stamps Challenge Blog and have a look at the October Project Of The Month Special as well as the first challenge...which is to incorporate brads on a birthday card!!

So here is what I came up with....

I also used this weeks Friday Sketchers Sketch #21 for the layout. I had a hard time with this sketch for some reason...I really like it, but it didn't come together quite like I had hoped.

Anyway, I am off to get Kirsten from school then back home to make supper and then back to town to get my hair done!!!

My mom is coming for a visit tomorrow, so I won't be back until Friday...but do stop by as I will have my blog candy posted!!

Thanks for stopping in and have a wonderful evening!!
