Birthday Wishes For Olivia

There is no school today so we went to town this morning for Kirsten's friend Olivia's 6th birthday! We went to the bowling alley and it was a hoot!! Landon loved it!! I didn't take my camera, but I did book the bowling alley for Kirsten's party next weekend, so I'll get some picts then!! Kirsten had a ton of fun as well, so it was a great morning!

Here is the card I made this morning to tuck in with Olivia's gift. Lots of glitter for a girl!! This cute Tilda with her balloons is perfect for a child's card. I stamped the balloons again and colored them out and popped them up on dimensionals for a bit of a 3-D look. She really liked it and so did her Mom, so that's great!!
My sister Kristy is coming out this weekend for a visit which will be nice. The kids always have a great time and it's nice to visit with her for more than a supper visit when we are over at Mom and Dad's and she comes over.
Off I scoot to have a snooze with the kiddos...Kirsten still has a bit of a cold so a rest will do her good!! Then she needs to get her scrapbook area (know as the spare room downstairs) cleaned up so Kristy has some where to sleep!! Maybe that;s why she wants a snooze...a bit of a procrastinator...!!
I hope you have a fabulous weekend!!

Photo Tag

Oh how fun!! My very good friend Nikki tagged me and I thought it would be fun to lay along!!

Ok so you are supposed to:

1. navigate to where you keep your pictures, select the 6th folder, and the 6th picture in that folder.
2. Then post it on your blog with an explanation of the story behind the picture
3. tag 6 other people to do the same, and make sure you let them know about it

Ok so this is my photo which is actually the 6th picture in the 6th folder in the 6th folder..confusing I know, but they are all in folders by year and then by month or event and alphabetically not chronologically... so I went that route!!

This is my sweet girl Kirsten on the night of her 5th birthday listening to her brand new cd player. All of her Tinkerbell goodies are on the table and if you look in the background by the garbage, that is the best use for a $6 gift bag....Landon playing in it!! Needless to say it didn't last long, but he had fun!!

I can't believe Kirsten will be 6 next week...crazy how time flies!!

Ok, I am never very good at playing along and actually tagging people, but I thought this was kind of fun, so I will tag:

Veronica- So Many Stamps, So Little Time

Lisa- Blessed Beyond Measure

Lainy- Lainy's Little Blog

Kim-Paper Babe

Lynn-The Queen's Scene

Jenna- Artistic Visions

If you've already been tagged, please ignore my tag!!

Have a fabulous evening!

Always & Forever~A Spoon Full #36

Hey there! This week's challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar is "Love is in the Air". You are to create a card or gift for someone special, so I made this card for my hubby. I made the Always one the other day and really like it, but I really like this one too, so it may be a toss up come Valentine's Day as to which one I'll actually give him!

I used Heather's Sketch again...love it!! The funky heart stamp and all the papers are from CTMH, the ticket sentiment is from Autumn Leaves, Prima Hydrangeas sponged with Tulip and Sorbet CTMH Ink, CTMH Tulip Brad and Sorbet Ribbon, stardust glitter pen for dots around the heart and the 2 wee hearts in the middle and Angel Wings Shimmerz on the primas.
Here is a close up of the shimmerz...very shimmery IRL and it dries so fast!! I love stickles and use it all the time, but Shimmerz dries so darn fast, so I thought I would use it for the flowers.
Well that's all I have for tonight! Lance is not feeling great, Kirsten has a bit of a cold and Landon didn't have a sleep today, so needless to say they are all in bed!! I am going to do some blog hopping and catch up fromteh last few days!!
Have a wonderful evening and I'll be back tomorrow!! ~Kelly

I Love You High Hopes & Mojo 71

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend. We stayed pretty close to home...had no choice though cause we were snowed in!! Our road still isn't clear, but Lance made a wonderful little trail to the south of our road right through the pasture so we can get at least get out now!
I used this cute little piggy from High Hopes for this weeks High Hopes Challenge # 15 and also for Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch #71. Papers are all from TLC, the sentiment is from a CTMH set called Dream Big...which is actually an incentive set I think. I added some stardust stickles to the heart in the sentiment and then popped it up on dimensionals. Rant he coral piece through my heart CB folder and used some lovely ribbon from Taylored Expressions.
Just a quick post today as I need to get our overnight bags packed...we are headed over to my Mom & Dad's for a visit before they go to the Bahamas!! I wonder if there's room in their suitcase for me!!
Have a wonderful day and thank you for visiting!!

Always

I thought that instead of being last minute Sally getting a card ready for Valentine's for my hubby, for a change I would do it early...and early it is!! I still need 4 or 5 more birthday cards for upcoming birthdays, but wanted something a little different to work on morning.

Everything is from SU with the exception of the 6 little chocolate brads that are from CTMH and the Labels 1 nesties. Stamp set is Always and the paper is the retired Berry Bliss, but I love it!! I added some sparkly dots on the hearts with my Stardust glitter pen but couldn't seem to get a decent picts of the shimmer. It's not too much anyway seeing as those it's for Lance, but just enough.
Kirsten didn't end up going to school today because...we can't get out of our driveway. It blew like crazy the other night and the driveway is packed solid. It was pajama day at school today and she was sad that she missed that, so instead we had jammie day at home!! Here's a pict of the goofballs playing together this morning!! Oh yes and Landon does have socks on his hands because he says those are his hooves:-)LOL!! Every time he puts on his cow costume he puts a different set of hooves on!!!

I hope you have a fabulous weekend and thanks for popping in!!

I'm So Glad There's You~Willow

A major blog tart is up for grabs over at Jen Del Muro's I heart 2 Stamp blog. Here is a little blurb from Jen's blog about the fantastic cause:

"So here’s the deal…
Fellow North Texan and Splitcoaster Julie Carlisle {afancycat on SCS} works in the International Student Services Department at Dallas Baptist University {DBU}. They have students from over 50 countries at the University that they give cards to. I have donated several cards to her in the past and she was one of the first people that came to mind when I decided I wanted to do this blog tart giveaway, as she is always so sweet and grateful."

Please head on over and check out all of the details. Remember there is one post with all of the details and once you have followed all of the rules, head over to the Official Entry post.

This is the card I made specifically to send, but will tuck a couple of extras in for them to send out as well.

I made this card not only for the blog tart, but for this weeks Sketch Saturday Challenge #34 as well. It was fun sketch and one that I'll definitely use again!! I used Willow with her cup of hot chocolate/tea/coffee, whatever you like from Whiff Of Joy and the sentiment is from Aud Design. All of the papers are from a best occasion stack I got from my sister for Christmas. It's a great stack with lots of fun papers and embellies, great colors too!!
On another note, I was lucky enough to win last weeks A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge!!! Yay, I can't wait to get my fun Alota stamps!!
I hope you have a fabulous evening!! Thank you for swinging by!!

Awards and an apology

I was lucky enough to be given this fabulous award by Joey from Joey's Stuff. Love her blog, so please go and have a look at her many creations, they are truly wonderful. Some days she posts 2 or 3 cards and I'm lucky to get one done, but seriously her cards are fabulous!! Thank you so much Joey!!

Next I received these 2 awards from Karin over at Scrap Everything, take a moment to hop on over to her blog as well, very creative she is, fabulous cards and projects and such a sweetheart! Thanks Karin, you made my day!!

And last but definitely not least is one I received a while back from Lynn over at The Queen's Scene called the Proximade award.

Now onto my apology...I had a running list of a few different blogs awards that I had been given and needed to post. Now I cleaned off my desk when I got my new computer (see where I'm going with this...) and now I cannot find that list. If I have missed mentioning that you passed an award onto me, please let me know and I will fix that...I just went off the top of my head and apparently that doesn't work so well. Now I have a little book beside my computer for such things instead of a scrap of paper. Sorry friends, I am truly honored that you pass such awards onto me as when I started this blog, I wasn't even sure if anyone but my faithful sister ...Hi Kim & Kristy would read it:-)
Landon and I are off to meet the kindergarten kids for skating this afternoon!!
Have a fabulous day!!

Daisy, Daisy

Oh my gosh, I just love this adorable little girl. Her name is Daisy and she is a Sugar Nellie stamp designed by Elisabeth Bell. I got mine from Funky Kits and their service is fabulous!!

I used a fabulous sketch from Heather Huggins-Hopefully. This sketch is actually for the Scrapmagisinet challenge and although I am not participating in that I thought I would still use her wonderful sketch!

The papers are called Boom-Di-Ada and are from CTMH along with the sentiment (Happy Birthday) and ribbon (Sweetleaf Collection) too!
Kirsten went over to her friend Olivia's today for some fun! She came home with some cookies Olivia's Mom made and oh my gosh are they good!! Mine always turn out hard like hockey pucks and these are nice and moist and cake-like, very yummy, I will definitely need to get the recipe!!
Our weekend was super busy for some reason, we did to go visit Lance's Grandma on Saturday and I finally took all of my Christmas decorations down yesterday!! My new computer is all set too and I love it!! The monitor is 24' though and it takes some getting used to, it's huge!!
Well off I scoot to get Landon into bed...hopefully, he slept until 6pm tonight, so we'll see how this is going work!!
Thank you for stopping by!

Lots Of Dots-TECC44

I used Taylor's Cupcake Challenge Sketch #44 for this layout and am really quite pleased with how it turned out. I almost thought it was an all CTMH card, but the stamp is from SU, everything else though is from CTMH (other than the scallop nesties oh and the swirly die on the inside and the sentiment so I guess it's really half SU and half CTMH!!). I love the new colors from CTMH and these are a few of them!

This is the first time I played around with the ribbon to make something other than a knot or basic bow and really like it. After doing this one, I'm sure it'll be much less time consuming next time. I've seen something like this floating around out there in blog land and really like the look. Staying true to all of the dots, I used the polka dot ribbon too!

Here are a couple close ups of the inside, back and ribbon.

The kids and I are going to run into Bassano, my new computer is in and I'm excited to get it, so I think that's what I'll be doing this weekend!!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend and thank you for stopping by!

Faux Leather Birthday

I know, not such a creative title, but I was stuck!! Anyway, I made this one for my cousin Jason's birthday coming up this weekend. I know he doesn't read my blog so I'm safe to post already!! I tried out the faux leather look and am pleased with the results. I used Old Truck from TAC again...see I told you I only have a couple of sets for Masculine cards...either this Old Truck or Wanted or Bronco Buster from SU...so I'm a wee bit limited.

So I did the faux leather technique with the chocolate cs (I used the instructions from the CTMH Cherish book...I'm sure it must be on Splitcoast as well, but I had my Cherish book handy as I was on the phone with my friend Lorelei and she mentioned it so I looked it up and thought it would be perfect for this card! It would be great for western cards to...will try that out next time with one of my SU sets!! It is super easy actually, just wet some cs, crinkle into a ball, carefully unfold and let dry...now the instructions in the Cherish book said to iron it a wee bit on med heat, but I liked it better not ironed at all, so I just added some chocolate ink to mine to make the crinkles stand out a bit more and glued it down!

Here are a couple of closer picts of the liquid glass on the windshield and the faux leather paper...

It's snowy and cold and wintery here again today which really stinks, but it's supposed to be in the plus digits by the weekend!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Hope you have a super evening:-)

Sweet Thing~MOJO Monday #68

Well I know I am late with this card, so I obviously didn't enter it over on the Mojo Monday blog, but I love how it turned out. I had no internet this morning which was only part of my problem. With no internet I couldn't sit down with my cup of coffee and read my Google Reader, so instead I had a brilliant idea for this card. But by the time my internet was back up and working it was after the 12:00 MST deadline anyway. I still didn't have picts taken, so I can't blame it all onthe internet though:-)
This sparkly creation will be heading out tomorrow for one of my blogging buddies birthdays...I won't say who so it's a surprise when she gets it.
I used last weeks Mojo Monday Sketch #68 for the layout and my Unity cupcake stamps. Colored them in with my Copics and added some stardust stickles to the chocolate cupcake and the cherry on top and then used my stardust glitter pen and added some glitter to the cupcake liners, used some pretty pink rhinestones for some more sparkle! The cs is from SU as well as I used the last bits of my SU Sweet Always DSP I received from my friend Dawn. No fear though, I have a brand new package waiting for me...I think!
Thanks so much for visiting! Have a super night!!

Happy Birthday Frank!

Good Sunday afternoon!! If you follow the fabulous High Hopes Stamps blog at all you know that Tina's{the owner of High Hopes} grandfather is turning 88 this month. She had a special request to flood his mailbox with cards from all over the world and here is the card that I will be sending out on Tuesday.

I colored the old truck image from TAC in with my SU watercolor pencils and then used CTMH Liquid Glass for the windshield and windows. Here is a close up of that...it looks pretty neat

I seem to have trouble with masculine cards...I only have a couple of sets suitable for male cards and it seems like every time I need one, I use the same stamps and paper, so this one is totally different and I hope Frank enjoys it.

We are just hanging out today but are going skating a little later this afternoon!! Should be a good time...I haven't been skating since I was a kid!! Oh what fun:-)

Thanks for popping by!!

Preferred Watercolor Pencil/Crayon Brand

Hello, hello!! Just popping in to ask all of my lovely readers and stalkers (it's ok to comment, really I won't bite...well, if you say something mean I may LOL!!) what your favorite brand of watercolor pencils or crayons is to use...if indeed you use that medium. Don't get me wrong, I love my Copics and my Prismacolor pencils, but before I had either of those I had the basic 24 pc Stampin Up watercolor pencils and really loved them. Now with the wide range of colors in Copics and even prismacolors, I find my self very limited with the SU ones as there isn't the greatest selection of colors...only a couple of greens and blues...one orange, etc. So I am looking to branch out and get some more and just wanted your preference!!

Thanks so much for your help!!

I do have a couple of cards to finish up and am hoping to have them posted tomorrow:-)

Have a fabulous evening!!

A Tilda Birthday~A Spoon Full #33

I finally have managed to participate in a challenge this week. I used one of my neglected Magnolia stamps-Tilda with some balloons-along with the papers I had out from my Pink Cat card from yesterday. Over at A Spoon Full of Sugar the challenge this week is a fabulous sketch by my good friend Nikki. It's a wonderful sketch and I am really pleased with how this card turned out...took a bit, but I'm finally happy with it.

I am seriously hoping to send cards to all of those on my birthday calendar, so I am filling up my birthday card bin. So far I am doing good and almost all of my cards for January are done! Mailed 3 of them already too...so I hope to keep it up.

We got snow again today and our driveway is all blown in, so Lance is out in the tractor right now plowing us a trail so that he can go to work tomorrow morning as he has to leave early and be on the road and I can take Kirsten to school!

I hope you're staying nice and warm!! Thanks for visiting!

Pink Cat Lily the Fairy

How cute is Lily??? I love her!!

Over at Pink Cat Studio, Melissa is having a little contest and the winner receives a stamp set of their choice, sounds fun hey..head on over for all of the details.

I used Sketch #36 by Katharina for my layout. The ribbon and Hollyhock cs is from CTMH and the pattern paper is For Peep's Sake by Imaginisce. Actually all 3 papers have glitter on them and then I used my new Atyou Glitter Pens and added some glitter! I love these pens and it's so pretty with the glitter in the paper and then the glitter on Lily. The sentiment is from SU!

Well I am really trying to get organized to some degree, but can't seem to find enough hours in the day! For some reason I fell that I was more organized when I flew by the seat of my pants than actually trying to be organized. Maybe it's just this first week back in school after a 2 week holiday. I even forgot Kirsten's snowpants on Monday...man she was cranky with me..she just had to watch everyone on the playground...oops...won't forget tomorrow though!

Thanks for visiting!!

Hey There!

Here is my card for Garrett. I used Taylor's Sketch #48 for my layout and one of my favorite High Hopes Stamps.

I really like this paper. I have had it in my stash for a while now, so it's about time I cut into it! I do have several boy birthday cards I need to get a move on, so it's a good thing I have it out. It is the White Out-Explore line by We R Memory Keepers and is very cool for boy cards! The sentiment is from High Hopes as well and the button and waxy flax is from CTMH.

I tried to find some printable Nascar coloring pages to tuck in with his card, but couldn't really find anything exciting, just some generic race cars. I think I may print them off anyway just to tuck inside.

Thanks for stopping by today and have yourself a fabulous Sunday!! Kirsten is back to school and Lance back to work tomorrow (as long as the county come sand plows our road to the highway...Lance got stuck in the tractor yesterday!!). It will seem so quiet here with just Landon and I!

Made by Kirsten just for Garrett

As I mentioned in my last post (Jan 1), Kirsten has her card finished for Garrett and has been on my case because I hadn't taken a picture of it yet. I thought I would get that done tonight and post it here. She loves my blog and will be excited to see her card on here tomorrow.
Kirsten used Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch #67 for her creation. She used a Whiff Of Joy stamp and colored it in with her assortment of Crayola Pip-Squeak markers. I cut the paper for her and helped her with the adhesive and ribbon, but she colored the image all on her own and picked the papers she wanted to use...for some reason, she always picks brand new papers that have never been used before!! I do have a stash of scraps and some of which are half a sheet or more, but she liked these ones because I had several that all matched. She likes matchy matchy things!
Without further ado, here is her fabulous card (if I may say so myself, I am very proud of her!)
I am just finishing up mine and then will get it posted here as well...probably tomorrow. Lance is watching a scary movie and I don't do scary movies, so when this is over we are watching my kind of show....a chick flick, romantic comedy, whatever, just nothing that will make me have bad dreams!!

Have a super weekend and thank you so much for visiting!

First Card of 2009~ Mojo Monday Sketch#67

Happy 2009!!

I had a chance to play this afternoon and get crackin' on the start of birthday cards I will be sending out in the next couple of weeks. Here is one I made using Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch #67. Kirsten also made a card using this same sketch, but it's for Garrett , so I will share those together when I am finished mine:-) Mojo Monday now has it's own blog...check it out.

I used a Whiff of Joy stamp, who by the way has a new release Jan 3rd....I stamped this lovely gal whose name I totally forget right now..Melinda I think. Anyways, she is stamped on SU shimmery white cardstock and colored in with Copics...I love this paper with Copics, thanks Dawn! I think you can see the shimmery from the CS a wee bit in this pict. The rest of the paper is from CTMH and is called More To Adore and I absolutely love it!! The sentiment and ribbon is CTMH too.

That's all for me for tonight. lance has recorded a movie, so we are going to go and watch it. Have a super night and thanks so much for stopping by!!
