Forget-Me-Not-SNSSOA

I really love the digi image (from Sweet n Sassy) that is a freebie (only a $5 donation gets you some fun freebies) right now (only until tomorrow at midnight) over on the Stampin Out Alzheimer's site and wanted to take part in the Sweet N Sassy card challenge.

I popped up the largest flower as well as the bud on the bottom and the sentiment. All paper is from SU Raspberry Tart and Kiwi Kiss cs. I also added some glitter with my spica glitter pen to the insides of each flower and on the sentiment as well.

The kids had a fabulous time at the birthday party today. It was such a nice day that everything was outside! They ran through the sprinkler and played on a fun inflatable water slide and pool thingie, it was awesome!

I am wiped tonight, so I am going to hit the hay, but I hope to finish up another SOA challenge or 2 by the deadline!

Thanks for visiting and leaving such lovely comments, they make my day! And a note to all my lovely stalkers...leave me a comment and I'll come visit you!

Magical Birthday Wishes-SOL#3

I keep saying I'm going to participate in the fun Scrap Online Challenges, Karin has going on PCP, but I never remember. They do it Thursday evenings which is around lunch time here and I always forget. Anyway, the challenge last night was a fun one, so I made a card this morning for it. The kiddos have a birthday to go to tomorrow afternoon, so this will be for the birthday girl.

Here is the card all finished and tied together...

and here is the inside...I kept it pretty simple so that things weren't sticking out when it was closed.

This adorable image is from the Hope & Grace set from The Greeting Farm, I just don't remember if it's Hope or Grace!! All papers are from CTMH as is the ribbon. The crochet flowers are from Etsy and my friend Lorelei and then just added some dew drops. The sentiment is from Verve.

-----------------------------------

Today is Lance and I's 10th anniversary, Happy Anniversary Honey!! Here we are 10 years ago, I can't believe it's been 10 years already, man time flies!

Anyway, my FIL came down last night to help Lance get the cows/calves in but they wanted no part of it, so he will wait to sort them until we brand which will be in the next week or so. Anyway he showed up the the most beautiful flowers for us for our anniversary and I just love them. Gerbera daisies are my very favorite and the burgundy lilies are gorgeous..anyway, here's a pict of them...the arrangement is really tall!!

Wishing you a beautiful day and a fabulous weekend!

Clock for my Dad

I am finally finished working on the clock for my Dad. I really love the way it turned out and I am hoping he'll love it just as much. I still need to find an easel type thing for it to stand on but other than that, it's done.

I bought this super fun frame clock from Funked Up Crafts here in Alberta. It's made by Kaiser Craft and is part of their Beyond the Page line.

All papers, buttons and hemp twine is from CTMH, the grandchildren sentiment is from Little Paper Shop, Robin's Nest dew drops and the perfect in every way piece was just cut from one of the sheets in the It's A Guy Thing paper pack.

My Mom is headed out here this afternoon for a visit and a sleep over. Tomorrow I am going to the zoo with Kirsten's kindergarten class along with 5 other classes from her school, so Mom will hang out with Landon here while we are gone. Kirsten is excited about their trip, me too, it's my first time going on a school field trip...well it's her first field trip too!!

Wishing you a wonderful day, it's beautiful here again today!

Magnolia Birthday-Stamp With Fun #8

I need a few more birthday cards here in the next little bit, so that's what I made with the fabby sketch from my good friend Nikki who is the guest designer over at Stamp With Fun. Nikki's Etsy store Bunny Zoe's is also the sponsor this week, check it out!

I used one of the Tilda's from the Spring Kit and some more paper from DCWV. I really love the BG Bling It (rhinestones) and Opaline (half back pearls) embellies. Yesterday I used bling it in lilac/violet but today I have used Opaline in lilac/violet for the four corners and the flower centre. There is a bit of glitter in the 2 pp and then I added some to the flowers with my Spica glitter pens.

It looks like a gorgeous day out so far, so the kids are anxious to get out in the sandbox to play!

Wishing you a wonderful day and thank you for stopping in!

I'm Glad There's You-SOA Challenges-LPS

Wow, Stampin Out Alzheimer's has a ton of super challenges going on right now. For a minimum $5 donation you get access to some super fun freebies and a ton of challenges with super prizes, not to mention the money goes to a fantastic cause.

This card is for the Little Paper Shop sketch challenge. I used one of the sweet digi images from Little Paper Shop called Katie Swing.

I used some gorgeous new paper from CTMH called Bella and I love it, so very pretty! My sentiment is from Aud Design and the fabulous rhinestones are BG Bling It in lilac/violet I bought from Summer at Roses on Paper. I covered the butterfly and the flower in Katie's hair with Shimmerz.

If you have a chance and $5 to spare, you should definitely head on over to Stampin Out Alzheimer's and check it out. I believe all of the challenges are open until May 31st at midnight, so there is still lots of time to get crafting!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for popping in!

I'm here, just busy enjoying the nice weather...

I just popped in to say that I am still here!

With the nice weather we have been having the past few days, it is next to impossible to get anything done in my scrap room. We built the kids a huge 8' x 10' sandbox and it is now filled with sand, so that has been where they have been ever since.

We also got a t-ball set for Kirsten and Landon and they both love it!! I will have some cards to show tomorrow but for now, I am headed back outside to have Lance help me build a raised vegetable bed!!

Happy Sunday!

My First Simon Says Challenge

Well, I'm not sure what rock I've been hidden under, but I just found the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog and thought I would participate. So this week's challenge is a sketch and a really good one!! I will definitely be using this one again.

I used one of the Magnolias from the Spring Club Kit but it is also part of the Chasing Butterflies 2009 collection. I used So Saffron cs from SU, Twilight cs from CTMH and the pp is from DCWV Baby Boy Nursery stack. I embossed the SS piece with one of my CB folders and inked all the edges with Versamagic Jumbo Java ink.

We are off to town tomorrow for a grocery and Wal Mart trip!

Have a wonderful night!

Miss Anya Birthday Wishes-ASFOS#52 & AMYRS67

I'm back!! We had a fabuous weekend. We managed to get alot of stuff done around the yard, got the 5th wheel un-winterized (probably not a word, but that's what Lance did ). Now, we just need groceries and clothes if we're going camping, but other than that, it's ready to go. Kirsten wants to have a sleepover in there this weekend, so that's what we'll do...for one night anyway!

I made this card today for a couple of challenges actually. First off, I used Amy's sketch from Friday and it will also work for A Spoon Full of Sugar's Anniversary challenge which is to make something along the celebration theme, so birthday works!

I know the "a" in Happy in the sentiment looks wonky and I don't know why...the whole sentiment is one stamp, so I'm not sure what happened there. All cs from CTMH, pp from Breezy Designs, ribbon from Martha Stewart and Making Memories brads.

I need to run and get some housework finished up and then make supper as Kirsten has t-ball tonight...I need to record the DWTS finale too!!

Thanks so visiting!

New Challenge Blog~The Next Level

June 1st is going to be the launch day of a brand new challenge blog called The Next Level.

I took this right from The Next Level:

"The Next Level is the exciting new concept of Dawn (All Pink Girl) and Ann (Madgesty - Love to Create) probably better known as blog name Madge. Our aim in designing this new informative style of blog is not only to produce really creative Weekly Challenges that are not tied to any specific brand, but also to explore new avenues, ideas and techniques with a completely fresh approach.

The Next Level will not only be a fun and informative place to hang out for card crafters and scrapbookers of all levels, but it is hoped that it will also become a valuable source of information, hints and tips, tutorials, downloads and much more. We want to cover the craft of traditional card making but also add in a touch of digital, not too much to scare anyone away, but enough to explore the magical world out there at your fingertips for anyone wanting to venture. "

They also have some fun blog candy to give away June 1st, so head on over to see what it's all about:-)

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Our Long Weekend Fun...so far!

Well I don't have a card to share with you but I do have some picts! It is the Victoria day long weekend here in Canada and we are having a good weekend so far. Lance had yesterday off and we just hung around home and had his dad down for supper and a nice visit. Then today we set off to run to town to get boards to make a sandbox for the kids but ended up being gone all day getting stuff here and there. We now have a travelling sprinkler that works awesome for our huge yard, boards for a sandbox and for a raised vegetable bed, salt and ear tags for the cows/calves and then stopped at my FIL's to pick up our garden tractor. Home we came, had supper and went out so the kids could go for a ride on their horse and then to bed.

Kirsten lost her 2nd tooth tonight too and is pretty excited about that.

Sorry for not having a card to share, but I hope you do enjoy the pictures.

Tomorrow we are off to check out a campground that is close to home so hopefully we'll be able to sneak out there a couple times this year. Lance may run down to our place at Seven Persons and check the yearlings on Monday, so I may have time to get something made then but in the mean time I am lovin the weather so far and the fun family time this weekend!

Hugs,

SC 228- Get Whale Soon

Well we found out the other day that Kirsten's kindergarten teacher is now at home recovering from back surgery, so I made this card to send to her. Kirsten thought is was not very girly, but I think with the flowers and glitter it looks nice. I got the image and sentiment from my friend Nicole, so I'm not exactly sure who makes it but I thought it was a perfect fit. I also used this weeks SCS Sc #228 for my layout!

Man it's been weird weather here today...just spitting every one in a while, but it is quite cool and windy too, so not a good outside play day!

Lance is off work tomorrow and Monday, so I am hoping to go and get lumber to make a sandbox for the kiddos and a raised vegetable garden for me. I also want a flower bed out in front of the house, but we are going to do that in railway ties, so Lance will have to get them another day.

I hope your week is going well so far...Grey's is on tonight the season finale and I am very excited...can't wait to see all the drama!

Thanks for visiting and have yourself a wonderful night!

Grandpa's Girl

Hello, hello! I hope you're week is going well. Today is Kirsten's last day of school until next Wednesday! Friday is a lieu day at school, so she doesn't go then and here in Canada, Monday is Victoria Day, so no school then either. A week off, yay!!

I took this picture of Kirsten and my Dad (sorry about the glare) when we were over for his birthday and really love it so I thought I would make him a frame for it.

I painted the back and inside the frame with a dark brown and then added a piece of blue My Mind's Eye paper. I used some Heidi Swapp chipboard letters for Grandpa's Girl and covered then with Twinkling H2Os for a bit of a shimmer but not too much sparkle. I didn't want it to be to girly as it is for my Dad, but it's so hard to leave it plain...I added some flowers to using a Spellbinder die and then crumpled them up so they looked a little weathered. The leaves are from a Stampin Up Embosslit and I love how they work.

Overall I am super happy with it and Lance even likes it, so I'm hoping my Dad will too. They are gone to Sandpoint for the long weekend and are leaving tomorrow, so not sure when we'll see then, but in the next couple of weeks sometime. I am also working on another project for him as well. I am hoping to have it done by the end of the weekend!

I hope you have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by!

For My Mom-FS#51

Happy Mother's Day!! I hope you have a fabulous day spent with your loved ones. Kirsten and I ended up going to emerg this morning as her cough keeps getting worse and she can't sleep at night because she's up coughing all night, so we went this morning after breakfast and they put her on an inhaler and it seem s to work pretty good so far. She just needs it when she is having a coughing fit, but it only takes a minute or so to start working, so that's good.

I used Friday's Anniversary sketch from the Friday Sketchers blog for my layout and a gorgeous Whiff Of Joy image from the Spring Stamp Kit by Elisabeth Bell I believe, anyway, it is Willow with Flowers. . I used my new Label 4 nesties, love them and also some fabulous Prima flowers I got from Roses On Paper. Summer is fabulous over at ROP and shipping was super reasonable...considering it comes from Hawaii and it came within a week. I had a gift cert from Lim's blog candy a while back to use, so I used it up (and then some) and love these flowers.

Here's the inside as well and the back. I love the sentiment from Little Paper Shop.

This card is for my Mom and I will give it to her hopefully this week. My parents are down at their property in Sandpoint, so they won't be home until tomorrow:-) Lance, Kirsten & Landon gave me a fabulous wishing well that I have had my eye on for a while, I love it!! It looks exactly like this one...

Well off I go to relax with my kiddos. I hope you have a fabulous day!

Just Magnolia #3

Just Magnolia Challenge #3 is a fantastic sketch from Bev. I used one of my older Tilda's but she is one of my favs.

I just used clear Dew Drops on my flourish and the top left side and lower right and they don't show up so well, but definitely look better IRL than in the photo. I colored the flower garland in her hair with my Spica Glitter pens and it shimmers oh so nice.

It is a fabulous rainy morning here so far...we need rain in a bad way out here in the boonies. The cows need something to eat, so the rain is nice so the pasture sets growing. Not sure how much it will amount to but it's welcome.

Thank you so much for visiting!

Dance in the Rain~ASFOS~50 & FS~50

Kirsten hasn't been feeling well so I kept her home from school Monday and then again today. She does feel better today but has a terrible nagging cough so I thought I would keep her home again today and hopefully have a quiet day at home and a low key weekend and she can go back on Monday feeling 100%. It's tough because she feels OK but she can't run or play around at all or she has a coughing fit, so that's been life around the Schelske household the last few days.

Anyway, I was able to get a card done that will fit 2 challenges. The layout for my card is sketch # 50 from the Friday Sketchers blog, fab sketch Bea!! It will also fit the A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge #50 this week which is touchy feely. I used liquid glass on the umbrella and rain and some fun 3-D Scribblez on her wings, ribbon from the April TEKI kit (all paper is from the same kit too) and some fun Primas and goodies.

This beautiful image is from Paper Makeup Stamps and her name is Emma. The sentiment is also from Paper Makeup.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hanging in there with me even when my posts are rather sporadic, I do try and post at least 3 or 4 times a week, but sometimes life just takes over and it ends up being less often:-)

Have a fantastic day!

Old Buzzard

Well yesterday was my Dad's birthday and we went over for a visit and supper. Lance got all of the yearlings hauled on Friday, so he was able to come with us which was nice. We stopped in town first to get Kirsten and Landon a baseball glove, bat and ball, so now they are all ready for T-Ball tomorrow night. Landon is officially too young to play, but we can still play around at home with him, so it should be fun. I played ball for a few years and loved it, so I hope they enjoy it like I did. Kirsten got a pink bat and 2 pink balls, so she is all set!!

I made this card for my Dad. I don't have the sentiment that goes with it, "Ya Old Buzzard", so I didn't put anything on the outside, but I did put a sentiment on the inside that I got from River City Rubber Works with my secret santa gift cert from my SBS sister. Everyone got a kick out of it too, but I definitely think you need to give it to the right person....not everyone would find it funny!!

So here is the outside...using High Hopes Buzzard

I used BG Marrakech Papers and buttons, SU Pacific Point and Chocolate Chip cs and some hemp twine from CTMH. Cut most of my circle with my nesties and then left the balloons out, covered them in liquid glass and stacked 2 scallop circles to mat it on.

Here is the inside...simple enough, but thought it worked well for a "guy" card...

Kirsten wasn't feeling great yesterday and not really today, so we've just been laying low. We just got up from a great snooze and this is her second one today, so I hope she is feeling better!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful rest of your Sunday!

Bridal Shower Wishes~Mojo84

Yikes, almost the end of another week! I did manage to get a card made that I need for this Sunday. It's my sister Kim's friend Stephanie's bridal shower so I made this card for her.

I used Mojo Monday's Sketch #84 for the layout and one of my neglected Chichiboulie Fairies-Felicity Whitelace from Stamping Bella. I also used some more of my April Taylored Expressions Kit, love it!! I didn't color her dress at all just outlined it with BG10 and then used the Colorless Blender to blend it a bit, added stickles to her wings and stardust glitter pen to the flowers and such on her dress. It sparkles so nicely IRL.

Tomorrow is my Dad's birthday, so the kids and I will be headed over there for dinner. I am hoping Lance can make it, but we have a bunch of yearlings that need to be moved from the feedlot where they are right now to our pasture where they will be until August or so. He is down there today doing a bunch of chores with them (branding, ear tags, vaccines, etc) but then they need to be hauled to our pasture, so if he doesn't get everything done today then he will go back down there tomorrow. I hope he just hires a cattle liner to haul them in, but we'll see, it definitely costs less if you haul them yourself:-)

I hope you have a fabulous weekend! Thank you for taking the time to stop by!
