Weekend Fun

Well I wish I had something crafty to show you, but I'm sorry that I don't. Don't forget about my blog candy above!!

We were gone Thursday and Friday and got home late last night. The casino we worked at for the skating club went well and we had fun!! By the time I got back to Mom and Dad's to pick up the kiddos, it was late and I took Kirsten to Calgary to get her flower girl dress as it was in. My Mom also had a dress fitting, so we all went together and met up with my sister Kristy. It was late by the time we got finished and headed back to my parents, so we ended up staying there as we were going out to my sister's for a BBQ anyway.

We went to the kids fun day at the rodeo grounds today and my little cowboy decided he was going to take part in the sheep riding and pee wee barrel racing and then they both did musical buckets!! Lance asked Maggie to lead Buck while Lance stays close by to make sure Landon doesn't fall off! It was his very first time in the pee wee barrel racing and he had a blast..waving to everyone, it was great!!

Here is a photo collage of the past little bit..mostly today but a few others from last week too!

Ok so starting in the top left corner is the buckle presentation for Lance and his roping partner Garth as they won the invitational roping today, yay!!
The center one is a family pict from last weekend just before we went to my friend Lorelei's birthday.
Kirsten riding her bike in the back yard.
Bottom left is Lance roping his steer on his winning run. Lance leading Buck with Kirsten and Landon and I am on the other side ready to help them on and off when we get to the next bucket (and when the music stops...just like musical chairs, but on horses and using buckets instead...so musical buckets is what we did).
Lance just pulled Landon off his sheep
A wee one of Kirsten's at my parents on y Mom's birthday
Landon at our branding posing...

We are off to Elkwater camping tomorrow until Thursday night so we will enjoy the Canada Day festivities there and Lance ropes at the Elkwater rodeo as well. The kids are excited for mini golf, I can't wait, it's going to be a super week!

Sorry I have nothing crafty to share, but I plan to get back on it Friday. I haven't even had a chance to hop on to my Google Reader..oh my gosh, so far behind! Thank you for stopping in and stickin' with me!

DDCC # 54-A Triangle Card

It's a fun one this week over at Dutch Dare. We are asking you to make a "triangle card". Interpret that however you like, but join in and have fun with it!

Here's my triangle card:

I used all SU paper, a fun image from Scrapmagasinet that I bought from Bunny Zoe's, some primas, spacers, a fun dragonfly charm and some great pink jute ribbon from Bunny Zoes as well. Let me tell you, if you haven't had a chance to check out Nikki's new store, you really must. She has a ton of fun items and adding new stuff all the time, service and shipping is super fast. Although these stamps come from Norway, they arrived the same day as the rest of my order!

Anyway, my Mom and I are headed to Lethbridge this afternoon so Iw on;t be back until late Friday. Saturday morning is the Bassano Rodeo parade and since it is a hometown parade, we don't miss it. Lance is roping as well and then we are off to my sister's for a BBQ. Sunday we are back to the rodeo grounds as they have some fun kids events like sheep riding and such, so Landon is all over that for sure! Monday we are heading out for a camping trip until next Friday, so I will be pretty hit and miss on the blog the next week or so.

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Thanks for stopping by...don;t forget to enter my blog candy above!

A Greeting Farm Birthday-ROP, JCBC

Well I was so excited the other day when my first Dutch Dare card worked for so many challenges, but I totally forgot that for the Roses on Paper challenge that the stamps used need to be Magnolia, Greeting Farm, Alota or Rachelle Anne Miller...oops!! Anyway, I have followed the rules properly this time and here is my card. I used the JCBC sketch # 37 for my combination challenge!

All paper is from the Emporium CTMH packet and the half pearls are Basic Grey. Dahlia is from The Greeting Farm and the blue ribbon from Taylored Expressions. the sentiment is from CTMH too!

I will have my blog candy post up later tonight or in the morning as I am going to be gone for a couple days. My Mom and I volunteered to work at a casino in Lethbridge tomorrow night. We work 7pm,-3am and then will come home at some point on Friday...once we get some shut eye. All money raised gores to the skating club Kirsten & Landon belong too, so it's for a really good cause and I'm glad to help out.

That's all for me for today! I hope you enjoy the rest of your Wednesday!

Thanks for visiting!! I've noticed quite a few new visitors...don't be shy, leave me a comment so I can come and visit you in return!

Father's Day for my FIL-TECC73

Happy Monday! I know Father's Day was yesterday but I wanted to share the frame and card I made for Lance's Dad. We went up to visit yesterday afternoon and got a chance to see my SIL Natasha and niece Abby as well.

I made this card for him using the Boys Will Be Boys stamp set from Taylored Expressions as well as the papers from the Father's Day Key Ingredients Kit. I also used the sketch From TECC #73 for the layout!

Here is the frame I made for him as well. I used CTMH Starstruck paper, some more Sisal ribbon from Bunny Zoes and I cut a piece of Jute also from Bunny Zoe's in half lengthwise and used that too. Added a bunch of CTMH buttons and our family pict. Sorry there is a glare off the top of the picture, I took several and they all have it, plus it was after midnight when I finally got everything finished;-)

Today is Kirsten's last night of T-ball and then the wind up tomorrow night. It is supposed to rain though, so we may not be going tonight anyway, we'll see!

Have a fabulous Monday! Oh yes and in honor of over 25 000 visitors, I am going to post some blog candy...finally!!

Happy Father's Day-ASFOS#56

Happy Father's day to all the great Dad's out there!!

A Spoon Full of Sugar has a great sketch this week created by Michelle and I wanted to play along. I'm sure you've seen this fun little shirt a dozen times already, but I haven't made one yet, so I thought it would be fun for Father's Day.
I used some super fun Sisal ribbon from my friend Nikki's online store Bunny Zoe's, it adds such great dimension and texture, love this stuff! Added some raffia as well. All paper is from the CTMH It's A Guy Thing paper pack.

It is raining a bit here now and in all honesty it could rain all day...we desperately need the moisture, so I think it is just going to be a relaxing day today!

Sending a big shout out to my sister's best friend Steph who got married yesterday in Fredericton, Congrats Steph and Kippy!!

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday!!

First Official Dutch Dare Challenge

I was super excited when Karin asked me to join the Dutch Dare DT! So today is my first creation as part of the team!! This week is a great color inspiration challenge and here is my take on it:

I used CTMH's Emporium paper which I love and coordinating CS. The fabulous flower is from High Hopes and I popped up the center and the leaves for some fun dimension. I added some glitter to the leaves with Shimmerz and then used my pink and yellow Spica glitter pens for some shimmer on the flower as well. Here's a close up.

Luckily for me, this card will work for a few other challenges this week as well...it wasn't planned that way though, honest! So here it goes:

Dutch Dare #53-Color Inspiration

Truly Scrumptious #9-Sketch & altered flower

High Hopes #35- Lotsa Circles

Roses on Paper- you need to participate in another blog's challenge AND be sure to incorporate FLOWERS as part of the ROP challenge.

Today is my Mom's birthday, so the kiddos and I are headed over for a visit. The wee tiny screw fell out of one of the arms on Kirsten's glasses, so I need to get that fixed as well. We are also going to visit my Uncle who just got out of the hospital and the kids are excited to see him. It'll be a busy couple of days, but fun for sure!

Thanks for poppin' in...300 posts later yay!!

Hugs,

Animal Cookies-Mojo #91-Dutch Dare

Yay, I'm back and finally posting a card!! Kirsten's graduation was great today!! She's sad she's done school but I'm so happy to have her home!! It was fun, all the kiddos in their graduation hats.

I made this card using the fabulous sketch from Mojo Monday's #91 from this week. This will also qualify for the Dutch Dare challenge from last Thursday which is to make a charity card. If you happen to have a spare card or two hanging around that would brighten a child's day, click on over to find out more details.

I stamped the cute monkey from the CTMH set called It's A Zoo 3 times and cut them out, then added some hemp twine and stamped some leaves from High Hopes. I sponged the background with Scattered Straw Distressing Ink and attached the monkey's in various spots. The paper is CTMH's Animal Cookies as is the white ric rac. I got this cute idea from the Summer CTMH Idea Book, I like the twine (which is probably just 3 strands braided together) better than the stuff I have, but it works and I think it's pretty cute.

Landon is exhausted tonight, so I am going to run and get him off to bed....oh right, my fun news is.....Karin over at the Dutch Dare Challenge blog asked me to join the DT, how fun!!so happy! Tomorrow will be my first official challenge, so come on back to check it out!

Thanks for stopping in and have a wonderful evening!

Just a tease...

I am here and well, just busy is all. It really amazes me how a week can fly by just like that. I was in town all day Friday, we branded our calves on Sat, Sunday was a day to relax and hubby built me a raised vegetable garden, yay!! Monday Kirsten had school, and today we were in town again for most of the day! Tomorrow is Kirsten's last day of school, her kindergarten graduation...oh my how time flies. I am so excited for school to be done and to just have her home all day. Landon is excited to have her here too, he misses his best buddy!

I do have a some fun news to share with you and will do that soon...just need a bit more info first and then I'll let the cat out of the bag....

Stay tuned...

TECC71-Happy Father's Day

As Father's day is quickly approaching, I thought I would get a head start so all 3 cards that I need will be done..I should be good to go. Here is the first one I've made so far using the Boys Will Be Boys stamp set from Taylored Expressions. Everything else is from the Father's Day Key Ingredients Kit.

I ran the metal piece through my Cb with the Houndstooth folder and then popped the image panel up on foam dots. The sentiment is actually from Verve and I used it because they are clear stamps and I could see where I was placing it. However, the is the same sentiment with the Boys Will Be Boys stamp set.

Off I scoot, I need to finish up some laundry and jump in the shower to get ready to pick Kirsten up from school. We are going over to a friend's house today as well for the kids to play some T-ball!

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Stampavie #5-Thinking of You

I thought I would participate in this week's Stampavie Challenge #5 which is a sketch challenge. I used one of the newer RAM images that I have. I don't have any of the newest ones, but this works just fine. CS is CTMH Twilight and the dp is Cosmo Cricket.

I made this card for my grandma as she's having a tough time with my uncle passing away, he was her oldest child so I can only imagine how she is feeling. I want her to know that we are thinking of her so I will pop this in the mail tomorrow. My Mom flies to Ontario (Kitchener) tomorrow with 2 of her brothers and then my uncle's service is on Thursday and then she'll come home on Monday.

Kirsten has school tomorrow and only 3 days left (Fri, Mon and Wed) after that so she is pretty excited. Everyone had great comments about her glasses the first day of school except for one rotter on the bus, but there always has to be one bad egg right...LOL!! I would like to thank everyone as well for the great comments about her new glasses, I read them all to her and she just had the biggest smile on her face, it was awesome, thank you!

Off I scoot, I'm super tired tonight even though we did have a 2 hour snooze today!

As always, thank you so much for taking the time to pop in and visit &/or comment, it makes my day!

I'm Sad

Honestly I really did plan on having a card to show you today, but my Mom's brother passed away yesterday and I haven't had a chance to get anything finished. I am so sad for my Mom and especially my Grandma, but I'll have a card finished up here later this afternoon at some point.

Scrap Online #4

I really liked the challenge over at Scrap Online this week, so I thought I would give it a go. I really love this Bella paper from CTMH so I went with that again. There is a sketch for the challenge plus the added challenge of using purple and/or green as well and I used both! This sweet girl is Dahlia from The Greeting Farm. I used one of my crochet flowers I bought from Etsy and some primas, spacers and BG pearls.

Today is my sister Kim's birthday so we will be heading over to my parents this afternoon for a visit. Happy Birthday Kim!!

I know I said I would be back on Friday, but we ended up staying another night at my parents and then time ran away on me. Sorry!! Kirsten is farsighted in one eye so she now has glasses. This will help strengthen her one eye until the optic nerves are developed and then she should be set and shouldn't have to wear glasses all her life...only till about 10 or 11! She picked them out herself, blue is her very favorite color and of course there is some bling on the arms, too cute (she's in her jammies here)...

I can't believe how grown up she looks!

Off I scoot for today, will be back tomorrow!

Have yourself a wonderful Sunday and thank you for taking the time to visit me!

Bringing you sunshine!

Well I really have no excuse as to where I have been, just busy!! But I did have a chance to make this card that will work for a couple of challenges this week. So, first off, I am using a great sketch from Sonja for the A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge this week as well as the Roses On Paper challenge this week which is a Pink, Yellow, Green color challenge.

This is Hope or Grace (I can't keep them straight) from The Greeting Farm as is the sentiment. All pp are from DCWV and cs from CTMH. I added some CTMH buttons and a leaf embosslit from SU.

We are off to my parents today after school for a visit and sleepover tonight. Kirsten and I have an eye doctor check up tomorrow and then we'll head home later in the day. I probably won't be back on the ol' blog until Friday sometime, so we'll see you then!

Have a super day and thank you for visiting!
