Special Present for my Hubby

Tomorrow will be 7 months since my mother in law Ursula passed away. After you loose a loved one you do carry on with life, etc, but it is absolutely amazing how many things just in our home make us think of Ursula on a daily basis. She made beautiful quilts, both Landon and Kirsten have theirs on their beds, Lance has one as well that she had made for him just before I met him. We have a few decorations up right now since I still have all of my Christmas decorations out, so every time I walk down or come up the stairs or turn the lights on, I see a beautiful Santa she made for me hanging on the wall, an gorgeous blue angel hangs over by the phone, etc.

Lance loved his almost daily conversations with his Mom on his way home from work and of course she was an amazing cook/baker, actually anything she did, she did so well. Lance went to Germany in April/May 2007 for 2 weeks with his Mom and I know that trip will always hold a special place in his heart.

I decided to make a couple of projects for Lance for Christmas this year. One is this frame...

A few of these pictures are from our wedding ad the others are from their trip to Germany last year. I printed them all in black and white and used papers and some chipboard embellies from a Breezy Designs kits...the paper is called Grandma's Curtains and Grandpa's shirt, I thought that was so ironic once I looked at it when I as making this layout.

I am not a master scrapbooker by any means but Lance absolutely loved it, so boo boos and all, I love it too!!

Off I scoot!! We are just watching the Calgary Flames vs Edmonton Oilers hockey game...GO FLAMES GO!! Right Dawn?!?! Just teasing!! Our dinner was wonderful! Of course the kids wouldn't eat any lobster, but the tenderloin was awesome!! I think I have the munchies now though....

Happy New Year everyone and may 2009 bring you a year full of health and happiness!!
