Autumn Wishes

First off, my FIL loved the card I made him for his birthday. I was watching his face as soon as he opened it and he started to chuckle right away, so that's good. He's still laughing about the saying on the inside!

This card was made for my Bunnzy Zoe's Crafts September Guest Designer roll...I am quite happy with the way it turned out.  I used some of the same paper as the other day as I find myself rather short on fall papers...or colors for that matter.  Anyway, I used a sketch that Heather from Hopefully has done and I know it was a couple weeks ago and I can't find it on her blog right now, so that's making me think that it was maybe for Whiff Of Joy or another DT she is on, but none the less, I really liked the sketch and decided to use it anyway.

This sweet little guy picking leaves is from the set called Autumn 1 by Ollyfant and is available at Bunny Zoe's Crafts.  The papers are actually from all over the place, SU, Chatterbox, Bazzil.  I added some fun light brown jute ribbon from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, the leaf buttons and Autumn Terracotta brads are from CTMH and finally the sentiment is from Magnolia.  I did sponge all the edges of all the different layers with Scattered Straw Distress Ink as well.

I am off to be helper Mom at playschool with Landon Wednesday morning and then have a bunch of stuff to get done in town. Lance is out of town all week and Kirsten is going to a friends house after school, so Landon and I are just go to visit with some friends until it's time to pick Kirsten up and then I told the kids we could go out for supper, so they are pretty excited.

I'll be back on Thursday with some fun news and my DDCC card to share!

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Buzzard Birthday Wishes-CP33

It seems like it's been ages since I updated my little ole blog...life ran away on me this past week. Landon started school on Monday and goes both Mon & Wed, I have a fitness class I attend both days while he is at school as well. I have also just started a photography course which is on Monday nights, busy Mondays I tell ya! My parents came out on Friday to pick the kiddos up for a sleepover while Lance and I went out for a fabulous dinner and then to see Lady Antebellum and Keith Urban in Calgary. It was an amazing concert!! We were lucky enough to have a wonderful sleep in on Saturday morning as well, my Mom and Dad brought the kiddos back around 1pm, so it was great. Now I have a wicked sinus headache and it's driving me nuts, hope it goes away soon!

Anyway, tomorrow (Monday) is my FIL's birthday and we are all going for supper so I thought I better get a card made for him. I used Sketch # 33 from the Card patterns blog for my layout (just added the sentiment circle).

I really love this fun High Hopes Birthday Buzzard for a man's card and so I went with him. I got this guys directly from High Hopes, but they only sell to wholesalers now, so you can always check Bunny Zoe's Crafts or Stamp and Create. If they do not currently have a HH image you are looking for, just shoot them an email, both gals are fabulous so I'm sure they'll hook you up.   Anyway, onto the rest of my card...I used some fun Chatterbox papers, ribbon from Taylored Expressions and I added some dimensional glaze (I used CTMH Liquid Glass) to the balloons and some glitter to the hat and ribbon/bow with Baby Blue Spica Glitter Pen. The sentiment is from SU and my funky watermark is also available in rubber.

I used this fun sentiment on the inside (sorry I forgot to take a pict) from River City Rubber Works.  My FIL has a pretty good sense of humor, so I think he'll get a kick out of it!

Anyway off I scoot tonight...tomorrow is a busy day!  Thank you for taking the time to visit!

Ice Cream Anyone? MTSC38

Mercy over at Lord Have Mercy has a wonderful sketch this week for her weekly sketch challenge and I thought I would give it a try.

I used this sweet Tilda with her yummy ice cream cone and the papers, flowers, candy dots and ribbon are all from the June Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit.  My lovely digi watermark is available in rubber at Bunny Zoe's Crafts.

I am starting a fitness class today with my friend Amy, so Landon and I are taking Kirsten to school int he morning and then headed to Brooks for my class.  They offer a daycare, so he'll hang out there with Amy's daughter while we are in the class and then off we go for groceries and some running around.   I am having a Silpada Jewelery party on Friday night, so I need some yummy goodies for that!

As always, I am so grateful to my fabulous readers, thanks so much for stopping by!

Christmas Hugs Just For You

How cute is this lil guy?? He is Popcorn the Bear and can be found at Bunny Zoe's Crafts. This image as well as the sentiment are from the Christmas Hugs set, but there are a ton of fabulous sets to choose from.  Popcorn really is adorable!

This image is quite large and I didn't want to take too much away from it but I did add a few extras.  The beautiful silver lace ribbon, fun red and green buttons and of course the wee Christmas Tree charm.  I used Karen's great Sweet Sunday Sketch # 34.   A nice easy sketch for such a cute image.

The fabulous watermark is also available as a personalized stamp and can be found here.

Back to school tomorrow (today) depending on when you read this, so it'll be an early morning!  I hope you all had a fabulous long weekend and thank you for stopping by!

Birthday Wishes

August is full of birthdays with us and here's a card I made for one of them.

I used one of the very cute Bildmalarna stamps I got from Bunny Zoe's fabulous online store. It is Mimosa with Flowers and she's adorable! There are a ton of new images as well as the oh so very cute Bells & Whisltes line. Have a peek.

I used one of the Mojo anniversary sketches, MojoJanette for my layout and some fun MME papers, of course Mimosa and my Spica pens for some glitter...although it doesn't show up very well in this pict. Teh sentiment is from Aud Designs.

Off I run, only a couple more loads of laundry and I should be ready to hit the road again! This time we are going to the Fairmont Hot Spring Resort for my sisters wedding.

Thanks for visiting!

SC 228- Get Whale Soon

Well we found out the other day that Kirsten's kindergarten teacher is now at home recovering from back surgery, so I made this card to send to her. Kirsten thought is was not very girly, but I think with the flowers and glitter it looks nice. I got the image and sentiment from my friend Nicole, so I'm not exactly sure who makes it but I thought it was a perfect fit. I also used this weeks SCS Sc #228 for my layout!

Man it's been weird weather here today...just spitting every one in a while, but it is quite cool and windy too, so not a good outside play day!

Lance is off work tomorrow and Monday, so I am hoping to go and get lumber to make a sandbox for the kiddos and a raised vegetable garden for me. I also want a flower bed out in front of the house, but we are going to do that in railway ties, so Lance will have to get them another day.

I hope your week is going well so far...Grey's is on tonight the season finale and I am very excited...can't wait to see all the drama!

Thanks for visiting and have yourself a wonderful night!

For My Mom-FS#51

Happy Mother's Day!! I hope you have a fabulous day spent with your loved ones. Kirsten and I ended up going to emerg this morning as her cough keeps getting worse and she can't sleep at night because she's up coughing all night, so we went this morning after breakfast and they put her on an inhaler and it seem s to work pretty good so far. She just needs it when she is having a coughing fit, but it only takes a minute or so to start working, so that's good.

I used Friday's Anniversary sketch from the Friday Sketchers blog for my layout and a gorgeous Whiff Of Joy image from the Spring Stamp Kit by Elisabeth Bell I believe, anyway, it is Willow with Flowers. . I used my new Label 4 nesties, love them and also some fabulous Prima flowers I got from Roses On Paper. Summer is fabulous over at ROP and shipping was super reasonable...considering it comes from Hawaii and it came within a week. I had a gift cert from Lim's blog candy a while back to use, so I used it up (and then some) and love these flowers.

Here's the inside as well and the back. I love the sentiment from Little Paper Shop.

This card is for my Mom and I will give it to her hopefully this week. My parents are down at their property in Sandpoint, so they won't be home until tomorrow:-) Lance, Kirsten & Landon gave me a fabulous wishing well that I have had my eye on for a while, I love it!! It looks exactly like this one...

Well off I go to relax with my kiddos. I hope you have a fabulous day!

Dance in the Rain~ASFOS~50 & FS~50

Kirsten hasn't been feeling well so I kept her home from school Monday and then again today. She does feel better today but has a terrible nagging cough so I thought I would keep her home again today and hopefully have a quiet day at home and a low key weekend and she can go back on Monday feeling 100%. It's tough because she feels OK but she can't run or play around at all or she has a coughing fit, so that's been life around the Schelske household the last few days.

Anyway, I was able to get a card done that will fit 2 challenges. The layout for my card is sketch # 50 from the Friday Sketchers blog, fab sketch Bea!! It will also fit the A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge #50 this week which is touchy feely. I used liquid glass on the umbrella and rain and some fun 3-D Scribblez on her wings, ribbon from the April TEKI kit (all paper is from the same kit too) and some fun Primas and goodies.

This beautiful image is from Paper Makeup Stamps and her name is Emma. The sentiment is also from Paper Makeup.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hanging in there with me even when my posts are rather sporadic, I do try and post at least 3 or 4 times a week, but sometimes life just takes over and it ends up being less often:-)

Have a fantastic day!

Teacher Anya~ASFOS#48

I love Anya's ans Ian's and Miss Anya's and well anything really from The Greeting Farm. I decided to make this card and I'm not really sure who it will be going to right this second, but I do have someone in mind. I used Caryn's great sketch over on the A Spoon Full of Sugar blog for my layout and Teacher Anya.

I really love SU's Pacific Point, so I paired that with Kiwi Kiss and some fun new October Afternoon paper I bought from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. It's called Light Night Charles and Picnic Basket. I used my fun new Flourish Accent Shapeablilities as well. After I cut and embossed the flowers I added some glitter with my stardust glitter pen and popped them up on dimensionals onto the flourish pieces that were cut out of Riding Hood Red SU cs. I used my green Spica glitter pen for the apple leaf and Scribblez for the apple. Not really "girly" colors, but I am actually really pleased with how it turned out!

Ok, so it's April 27th today right...well, we have about an inch of snow today!! The roads weren't great this morning taking Kirsten to school, but they should be better this afternoon once the highway maintenance people get out there. So not fun for this time of year, but we do live in Alberta, so I guess that's life! No T-ball tonight, so that's good because I didn't buy Kirsten a ball glove!! Ooooops, I guess she kind of needs one for that, but we'll get her hooked up for next Monday!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day!

Just Magnolia2~AMRYS2~Lostie

Good Sunday evening everyone! Wow, another week flew by. I finally had a chance to make a card today. I used the colors-Pink & Green from the Just Magnolia Challenge #2 and then Amy's sketch for the layout. I kind of added some extra layers and another flower, but I hope that's ok. I used one of the Magnolias from the Spring Kit, love this kit, such cute images!!

I used my new Label 4 nesties that I picked up at a LSS when I was in Calgary last week, so glad I finally found some!! All cs is from CTMH and pp from DCWV Girls Nursery stack. I added some flower soft for the "grass" and used bubblegum Shimmerz on her wings! Added some fun CTMH Sorbet ric rac, 2 lovely Primas with some spacers and a wee pearl.

We had such a fun time at the Hannah Montana movie, it was great. Kirsten and I went shopping earlier in the day and that was so much fun. I don't often get to do too much just Kirsten and I so it was a real treat for both of us.

I had a comment and a couple of emails asking for pictures of our calf, so after supper tonight when we went out to feed him I snapped a couple...here is Lostie after his supper was finished...Kirsten called him that and thinks that if he finds his Mama, she will call him Lost & Found!! Pretty good theory!!

Off I scoot for story and bed time for my kids, it's been a long week and Kirsten is back to school 3 days this week and T-Ball is supposed to start if the weather is decent, butit is supposed to snow tomorrow, so I doubt we'll be going to ball.

Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit!

Fairy Birthday Wishes-MOJO82

Kirsten is off to a birthday today and she is excited. They are going swimming and she is a little fish, so I'm sure they'll have fun. Landon and I are just going to relax. I am hoping it will be a nice day so we can go outside. I bought them both hoola hoops yesterday and they are having a blast with them. Mom and Dad have some over at their place and they were playing with my sister at Easter, so they decided they needed their own.

Anyway, onto my card, I used Mojo Monday Sketch #82 for my layout and ....check it out..my new watermark. Karen over at The Sweetest Thing is selling watermarks. I love all her work and they looked great, so I ordered a few of them, paid for them and got then super fast. You should definitely check it out if you are in the market for some new watermarks. I'm sure it can't be that hard to do but man for the life of me I can't figure it out. So $2 each is a great price to pay to eliminate the frustration!!

I used another Fairy Lily image from the Enchanted Lily set from Pink Cat Studio who by the way is releasing Lily at the Beach on the 23rd! Colored her in with my Copics, added lots of glitter and bling too!!

I hope Peekay likes it, she loves Tinkerbell but this is as close to Tink as I have!!

Wishing you a wonderful day!!

TECC63-Fairy Lily

Oh my gosh, I love these adorable fairy Lily girls from Pink Cat Studio. I used Taylor's sketch from Friday for my layout and Lily on the swing from the Enchanted Lily set.

My wonderful friend Lorelei made me some of these adorable crochet flowers. I really love them and secretly would like to just keep them on my counter and look at them because they are so cute and pretty, but I thought they worked well on this card. The middle one has some sparkly thread in it and the two outer ones are solid white.

I colored in her wings and the flowers with my Spica glitter pens for some shimmer and added the shimmery brads the the flower centres from my stash. A pretty girly card that I think will be for a birthday, but I will put that on the inside when the times comes.

Wishing you a wonderful Easter Sunday with your family and friends!

Little Paper Shop-Katie Mushroom

I'm not really sure when this ends and I may be too late, but over at Little Paper Shop, they have a fab sketch challenge on right now and you could win your choice of 3 digi images.

I used one of the adorable digi images from their online store called Katie Mushroom.

I just got the Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Applicator Tool and thought I would use it for the sky and grass, but things didn't really work out the way I was hoping they would. The little felt pads are smaller than the velcro piece and they were causing me trouble...maybe I just need more practice.

Anyway, I am going to run and get Landon to have a little snooze, Lance is back in bed sleeping again. I think he is starting to feel a smidge better but we have decided to cancel Easter dinner at our house and maybe the kids and I will go over to my parents. I have a cousin out from BC that has never met my kiddos, so it would be nice if we could visit.

Have a super Saturday!

A Verve Birthday-MOJO81

I used Julee's fab MOJO sketch from Monday for the layout of this card. It is made for Lance's Grandma who's having a birthday next week. I'm not sure when we are going to get into the city to have a visit so I wanted it ready just in case I need to pop it in the mail.

I used 2 different Verve sets for this one, Petals & Stems and Birthday Surprise as well as the oh so yummy Raspberry Tart paper from SU!. I used Stardust stickles on the outline of all 3 butterflies and popped the single on up on dimensionals, added 3 MS pearls and some beautiful American Crafts ribbon to finish it off.

Just a quick post tonight for me as I have a ton of stuff to catch up on. Landon and I took Kirsten to school today and then continued on to Medicine Hat to go to Costco and Wal-Mart...a pit stop at Michael's and then home to get Kirsten from school, so I have stuff to get put away and "hidden" for Easter and then some supper ready!

Just a quick note to wish sweet Danni a very Happy 4th Birthday!! Hope your day was fabulous sweet girl!!

Thanks for visiting!

Howdy!~AMYRS64

I love sketch challenges...as if you couldn't tell, but I do. Amy's are fabulous so I have gone ahead and used her sketch from Friday for the layout of my card.

This is made for a very good friend of Lance's family who is having a birthday tomorrow. Larkin (my FIL) is going to town for dinner with them so I made this today so he could take it with him.

He is most definitely a cowboy being president of the rodeo committee and all, so I thought this would be a fitting image for him. I hope he likes it! Happy Birthday Wayne!

*************************

Only 1 more day of school for Kirsten this week and then she if off until the 20th! Yay, I am excited to not have to get up at 6am...maybe I can train the kiddos to sleep in. One thing is for sure though, after her flower girl dress shopping night with just the girls, she is looking for another "just the girls" night, so my sisters, Kristy & Kim and I are going to take her to see the Hannah Montana movie. I think it'll be fun, we've never gone to a movie before, so I am looking forward to it!

Lance is feeling a bit better but I guess everyone at the office had the exact same thing he did all weeeknd! I really hope the kids and I don't get what he had. I'm still all stuffed up and such, but no aches or pains and I would like to leave it that way!!

As always, thank you so very much for taking the time to visit and comment and I hope you have a wonderful day/night, whatever it may be where you are:-)

Tilda & Flower Soft

I picked up a couple jars of Flower Soft last week when I was in Calgary and finally had a chance to play with it. It's great and comes is a wide range of fun colors. I bought 2 of the mixed posts, Sweet Pea and Fuchsia. You can get them online from Taylored Expressions, 7 Kids College Fund and All That Scraps.

I used this months Sheetload sketch for my layout and added some fuchsia flower soft to her basket of blooms! It's so fun and makes it look so pretty. Green would be funky for grass and brown, grey or black for animal fur, a light blue for some clouds or water, yellow or light tan for hay or straw, there really are so many fun things you can do with this stuff.

Speaking of straw, we finally have our first calf!! Hopefully one of these days the Mommma's will hang out a little closer to home and I'll get some picts. Landon is so excited for the babies to be arriving!

Keith Urban is coming to Calgary this September and I got tickets yesterday for Lance and I to go...ya a date night for us, just counting down until Sept 18th now:-) I got tickets today as well for Kristy & Jason too. It'll be awesome, I love Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum is opening for him and they'll be awesome. Lance and I did see Lady Antebellum in Vegas when they had a show on Freemont Street, but I'm thinking this will be so much better!

Have a wonderful day!

Paper Makeup Stamps-AMRYS63

Well as you all know my daughter's name is Kirsten so when I saw Katie Cotton's new line of stamps called Paper Makeup and one of the beautiful fairies is named Kirsten, of course I had to have it. Kirsten thinks it's pretty cool too. I let her open the package when it came and she was excited that her name was on there.

Anyway, I used Amy's sketch from Friday for the layout and my new March Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit. The paper in this kit is awesome, plus gorgeous ribbons, beautiful glitter and some fun chipboard pieces to match, love it!! Lots of bling going on with this one!! I made a boo boo cutting out my oval and decided to add some liquid glass and the Parisian Glitter (it came in the March TEKI kit). I think it turned out great and it hid my mistake too;-) I used Scribbles in Crystal on the flower puff (looks like a dandelion to me, but not 100% sure on that, celery Shimmerz on her wings and some matching green rhinestones on the right hand side. I am really quite happy with how it turned out.

That's all for me today, I am going to scoot and get supper going!! I do have a card to share with you tomorrow using my new Flower Soft, that stuff is so cool!!

Have a wonderful evening and thanks so much for stopping by!

Sunshine & Flowers-SFYTT

I had a chance last night to color in this adorable Tilda who is from the Spring Magnolia Kit. I've had it for over a week but didn't have any EZ Mount...so now that I have some, I'm back in business and have everything mounted!! These stamps are so cute, each and every one in the whole kit is adorable!!

I put everything together this morning using Jen's SFYTT from Saturday and my new papers!! I bought this great stack of My Mind's Eye paper from Michaels. The majority of them have glitter on them and then there are some at the back (the orange one) that coordinate but without glitter. The stack is called Playful Posies. I love these colors together.

I used some of my fun new charms, spacers, etc with my Primas and am really loving how it turned out.

Off I go to get some housework done...and hopefully more stamping!

Wishing you a wonderful day and thank you for visiting!

Thinking of You & Smiling-MOJO 79-Jen's Alzheimer's Card

I'm sure you've already saw this, but over at Jen Tapler Designs, she is having a fantastic blog candy. All you have to do is make a new card and send it to her so that she can later raffle them off to make money and donate to the Alzheimer's Association, a really great idea and I wanted to help out a wee bit!! Hop on over and have a peek to read more about it and get your entry in. I am brand new to Jen's blog and her work is wonderful!

Here's the card I made and I will be popping it in the mail on Monday. I used Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch #79 for my layout. Instead of putting the ribbon on top like the sketch, I put it under my image and then added the bow.

I was at Micheals the other day and found this lovely Choloe's Closet paper and had to have it!! I also used one of my very cute Miss Anya's and a new EK Success punch. I was looking for some new MS punches, but Micheals didn't have any that I liked other than the picket fence one and I did get that, but they had a ton of new EK Success punches so I got this one and another fun one. These ones are so easy to use compared to the MS ones, they punch like a dream. I will definitely be going back with the ole coupon to get some more...next time I'm in Calgary that is!!

The ribbon and sentiment are both from CTMH.

Off I run, it's late and I am tired!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous Sunday! I'll be back tomorrow with the pict of the flower girl dress we ordered!!

Happy Easter-SSSC10 & ASFOS #44

Ya, I finished a card and it works for 2 challenges. Over at A Spoon Full of Sugar, the challenge this week is to make an Easter card, so it works for that, plus I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #10 for the layout!!

I used a cute bunny from High Hopes (the sentiment is from HH as well)and some left over Imaginisce-For Peep's Sake paper, love that stuff!

Really short and sweet today, I need to jump in the shower and get ready to head over to Okotoks to my parents. Later this afternoon we'll head into the city to do some shopping. I am hoping to get to a Michaels and check out what`s new...I never go so there should be some fun goodies. I am also in desperate need of some EZ Mount to get my Magnolia Spring Kit mounted so hopefully my LSS will have some in stock...crossing my fingers!

Hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for taking the time to visit:-)
