  2. Congrats on the 10000 hits! As a Weight Watcher I'm always looking for an easy low calorie meal. My favorite is Salsa Crockpot chicken. 4-6 chicken breast, 1 cup salsa or more, 1 pkg. of taco seasoning, and cook in the crockpot till done. Then I eat the chicken breast all week either separately, or with a tortilla wrap, or put it in some soup or salad, etc.

  3. Well you mean besides the usual British traditional Sunday Roast??? My fav meal would have to be lumberjacks pie!!! Now bear with me as some people think this combo is a little weird...but don't knock it till you have tried it.
    You will need:

    Potatoes
    Heinz Baked Beans
Either tin of spam or hot dog sausages
    Cheese

Boil the potatoes and mash them
Place the beans and the spam in a deep dish
Cover the beans and spam with mashed potatoe and sprinkle cheese over the top
Bake in the oven for about 30-40 mins.

Add a little BBQ or brown sauce if desired.

    Yum!!!

Let me know what you think, this has been in our family for years!!

Favourite recipe is more a case of favourite meals, both traditional and something we will all east, good old bangers, mash and Pea's or Roast chicken with all the trimmings, oh, we always have baked beans with our sunday roast, something I picked up from my mum but adds a certain twist and the kids love it!

  6. One of my families favourites is pork chops with honey/mustard and apple or pineapple. My husband doesn't really like pork so I can't remember why we had it (I'm vegetarian too) but both him and my fussy daughter wolfed it down and asked for it again so it must be edible at least.

All you do is warm 2 dessert spoons of honey add 1 teaspoon of mustard and mix well. Rub it into the pork chops. Chop some apple (or pineapple) and lay that on the bottom of your tray as a bed for the pork, add the pork chops then chop more apple/ pineapple over them and drizzle any honey/ mustard mixture over it all. Cover with foil and cook at 200 celsius for 30-40 minutes.

  14. Congratulations Honey on all your hits!
We have so many recipes that our family LOVE to eat but if you want healthy and quick our current fav has to be Sausage roast!

We use veggi sausages, lots of different veg... Butternut squash, carrots, parsnips, mushrooms, potatoes usually whatever is in cupboard, Then we peel, chop and roast them all together in large baking tray with some olive oil and a very generous helping of lemon thyme! Takes about 40 - 50 mins to bake depending!
Then to serve you have to try a quick tomato and bazil sauce, fry onions in a little butter till soft add pinch salt pepper, dry basil if your short of fresh and then add a little tomato puree and a large can of tomtoes adding a little water to get nice thickness cook 5 mins, then blend with fresh basil and a little olive oil till thick and creamy, yummy!

  20. Just got on to your blog. very cool :)

    Congrats on the 10,000 hits

one of my favorites was passed down to me by my Mom. It is so easy.

Brown ground beef with one onion chopped semi fine, a dash of salt & pepper to taste and a clove of garlic ( or more depending if you like garlic ). At this point if you want you can add frozen pees and carrots or leave it out up to you. When cooked add one can of Campbell's cream of mushroom soup nothing added. mix in.

in a seperate pot cook your favorite brand of macaroni & cheese.

in a cassarole dish lay out your ground beef dish and then on top your macaroni dish. sprinkle a bit of parsley and a tiny bit of paprika ( optional ) and put in oven for 20 min at 350 degrees.

    enjoy :)

  21. Another veggie lasagne-lover here but we don't use a substitute mince and the veg is whatever is in our patch at the time so generally beans/courgettes/etc. Must have a cheesy crunchy top!
Even quicker: Pasta bake: Fusili spiral pasta (part-cooked) with fried onion, herbs, tin toms, and couple of big spoonfuls of my homemade chutney: All mixed together and put in a dish with sprinkled cheese on top before baking.

  22. Congratulations on the number of visitors you've had. As is the traditional meal here in England of a roast with all its trimmings and lots of gravy , i do like Shepherd's pie which is mince beef/lamb in a gravy with veg. (I like) and topped with some buttery mash potato.Season as you please of course. Yum yum.

I'm pondering here as to what my favourite is ....... probably Tarragon chicken which consists of chicken, gruyere cheese, nutmeg, tarragon, mushrooms, white wine, cream served with baby potatoes and sugar snap peas fried in cajun spice, tobasco and worcestershire sauce. Yum! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! lol

  25. Congratulations on 10,000 hits.
My favourite meal, especially at this time of the year has got to be stew and dumplings. The way I make it is throw as many veggies plus some braising or stewing steak in my slow cooker with beef stock and leave it all day whilst at work. Then pop the dumplings in for about 30 mins. Hey Presto easy tea that isn't just my favorite, but also always has the children asking for more.
Thanks for the chance to win some candy

  28. Congratulations on all those hits and thanks for offering all that lovely candy!

The dinner that goes down best in our house is my homemade beef burgers. Basically steak mince with a few extras added to make it a little more special. I recently realised that the same mixture can be broken down further to make meatballs too. ~x~

Pour the sauce mix over.Bake at 180 degrees until sauce has started to caramelise or meat is well done. Serve with mashed potatoes and baked beans. Very tasty!

  31. hi kelly!!!
well... my boys favorite meal is a israeli dish called: "shaksoka".
you have to fry onions with some red sweet pepper. then, after about 3-4 minutes you add some ketchup or tomato sauce and 3-4- tabalespoons of water. you season it with some salt and pepper and then let it cook for another few minutes. then you open an egg on it (you dont move it around!!!) and cook it for another 2-3 minutes. you serve it with bread on the side. yummy!!!

I add alink to your blog from mine:

  34. Congrats on all your hits!!! One family meal that is a big hit is "cottage pie". Basically, minced beef or lamb browned off, add to onions and mushrooms that have been lightly fried. Add tin of chopped tomatoes, couple gloves garlic, a tin of baked beans in tomato sauce and a couple of dashes of worcester sauce. POur into oven proof dish, put mashed potatoes on top, then sprinkle finely grated cheese and a crushed up packet of cheese and onion crisps (any flavour will do, these are my favourite!) Garnish with sliced tomato on top, thencook until golden brown (20 mins in my oven) and serve with any veg you like and a nice thick gravy!! Yummy AND cheap!!! You can halve the normal amount of mince by adding the baked beans, and kids love it!

  49. My favourite is:
    Potato and Silverbeet Fritatta

6 medium potatoes - boiled or steamed till tender ( only cut them in half no smaller or leave whole)
    6-8 leaves of Silverbeet
1 knob butter (1 tablespoon approx.)
    4 eggs
2tblspns light sour cream, creme fraiche or sour cream
50g grated cheese - parmesan, tasty, whatever you have
    good sprinkle nutmeg
    1 tsp salt
    Black pepper
    Olive oil

While potatoes are cooking shred the silver beet leaves (remove bottom thick part of stalks but leave the rest in the leaf).
In the same frypan (stovetop one not electric) that you will later cook the fritatta, melt the butter. Cook the beet till well wilted. Meanwhile beat the eggs lightly with the sour cream, cheese, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
Tip the cooked and drained beet into the egg mixture - cut the cooked potatoe into bite sized chunks while still hot and stir into egg and beet mixture.
Heat a thin film of olive oil in the frypan. When hot, tip in the frittata mix and cook over medium heat for about 8-10 minutes on the underside. Turn the frittata by placing a plate over the top, invert the pan quickly and slide the frittata back into the pan. Cook over low heat for another 5-8 minutes until the centre feels firmish to the touch and bottom is brown. Slide out of pan onto plate and cut into wedges and serve.
Very yummy - freezes well. Can be eaten hot or cooled.
