Exciting News

I am so excited to say that I have been asked by Julia from Little Paper Shop to be her guest designer for June!! I cannot even express how excited I am about this opportunity, thank you so much Julia!! Please check out her new store, lots of great masculine stamps, as well as the blogs of the very talented gals on the design team..they are now linked up on the right hand side of my blog.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Tea-riffic Birthday!!

Here is another birthday card to add to my pile that I need for upcoming birthdays. I love High Hopes stamps as I'm sure you know by now and I think this angel is one of my favs! I used some left over papers from my card the other day, so it came together pretty quick. I popped the sentiment strip up on dimensionals and added some bling to that as well as the scallop piece.
My children are still over at my Mom and Dad's and Kirsten is fighting off something...strep throat (her best bud in preschool has it) or a cold or something. I feel sad for the little monkey because she is always so excited to go visit Grandma & Grandpa and then to be sick really sucks for her. They were off to pick out some flowers to plant this morning and some running around this afternoon, so hopefully she is feeling better. I am off to the hospital now and then I think I'll go pick up my little monkey's tomorrow afternoon.
I hope you're having a wonderful day, looks like a beautiful day here for us!! Thanks so much for stopping by and all the wishes for my MIL, it really makes my day to see that so many of you care.
Stamps: High Hopes-Trish Tea Angel & Sentiment
Paper: watercolor paper, SU Wild Wasabi & Blue Bayou, Both PP-K&CO slab from Costco
Accessories: prismacolor pencils, OMS, stardust stickles, MAMBI Rhinestones, SU Wild Wasabi DS Ribbon, dimensionals

Nothing crafty, but oh so pretty!!

These are the amazing flowers my MIL & FIL gave us for our anniversary today. Aren't the so pretty?? I love them. When I went to the hospital yesterday to visit Lance's Mom and they were sitting on the chair all wrapped up and such and I said to both Larkin & Ursula, "Oh my goodness those are beautiful!!"...thinking they were just delivered for Ursula...but Larkin kinda has a smile on his face and then said "well that's good, because they're yours..for your anniversary" Wowee! It's such a fun, funky arrangement.
Lance and I are going to meet in Strathmore tonight and have dinner for our anniversary and then I am going to spend part of the night with Ursula again. She's hangin' in there and is such a courageous woman. I really enjoyed our time together yesterday, it is so different to be able to chat and have a visit without trying to entertain a 2 1/2 year old!!
Thank so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Birthday Card for my MIL

Today was my MIL's birthday and this is the card I made just for her. She is an amazing quilter/sewer, all things crafty kind of lady, so I thought Kathy Quilting Angel from High Hopes would be a perfect match! She loved it!! I did stamp a sentiment on the inside of the card...just left the outside cause I really didn't have room for the stamp I wanted to use. Many thanks to Dr. Fanning who made her wish of coming home to the farm one more time come true, it was wonderful to see her at home, but oh so hard to say bye. We had a nice meal and then her favorite cake, a Black Forest Cake from Sunterra Market that Lance picked up...it was oh so yummy!!
Sorry it's so short and sweet tonight, but I have some ironing to do for Lance and then my Mom is going to meet me tomorrow to pick up the kids for a few days and I am going to spend some quality time with Lance's Mom.
I hope to be back on Thursday with something fun:-)
Stamps: Kathy Quilting Angel from High Hopes
Paper: Blue Bayou & Wild Wasabi from SU, PP from K&CO Costco slab, Canson watercolor paper

Edwin's Birthday Wishes

Here's another birthday card for my stash! I used Charming Edwin from Magnolia and Taylor's TECC17 sketch. I stamped him with Black Staz ON and colored him in with prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS, used Stardust stickles on his wings and the rosebuds and cinnamon stickles for his snap/button on his jeans. I cut out the 3 circle pieces from a coordinating piece of CTMH pp, used a bamboo brad in the centre and popped them up on dimensionals. I just got my stamps from Little Paper Shop and used the "Happy Birthday" from the All Occasions set and voila!!

Lance is in Strathmore at the hospital visiting his Mom and the kids and I are on the way in now. We are going to stay the night at a hotel as Lance is going to stay late with his Mom tonight so then he won't have to drive all the way home, plus we get to go the the pool and water slide in the hotel...the kids are so excited!!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend...and to my US friends, Happy Memorial day weekend!!

P.S. Happy Birthday Lorelei, I hope you have a fantastic day!!!

Thank you for Mrs Armstrong!

Kirsten will be done preschool in a few weeks and thought I should get on with making a little something for her teacher, Mrs Armstrong. So far this is all I have accomplished. I made her a bunch of cards for Christmas and not sure what to do for her now...any fun ideas??? Anyway, all of the stamps are from High Hopes, Mary J teacher angel, the school background stamp as well as the sentiment! I used Taylors's Cupcake sketch from Friday, TECC16, nice and quick! I put star dust stickles on her wings and lime green stickles on the stars on the green background portion. Colored her in with my prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS again...lovin' that lately!! Punched out the sentiment with my SU word window punch and then popped it up on dimensionals.
Kirsten is making a card now for Valentine's day...not sure why she needs one so badly or right now...but I'll go with it, she's having fun! Anyway, she needs my help with some glitter, so I'm going to scoot and give her a hand! Thanks for visiting!!

Just A Note

I made this for Mojo38 over on Julee's blog. It started out as being another birthday card for the stash I need, but I had this cute little oval sentiment that went with the sketch perfectly, so it became a "Just a note" card instead. I used Little Missy from High Hopes and colored her in with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. I used all TLC paper from the Retro Collection and twill ribbon from Taylored Expressions. Finished it off with the sentiment from Aud Design and some orange peel stickles in the flower centres and that's it!!

It's windy and looking like rain...we definitely need it though, so it can rain all it wants...well for a bit anyway...I am not sure the farmers that are still in the field will share my thoughts, but can't make everyone happy I guess!!

Thanks for popping in and have a wonderful evening!!

Happy Birthday to You

I'm not really sure who will actually get this card because there are a few birthdays coming up in the next month or so, but this is the first card I've made so far. I used Jen's SFYTT and then added the scallop circle with sentiment with my nestabilities...I really love them!! I used all TLC Playhouse collection papers and then watercolor paper for Bethany Angel and the birthday sentiment from Aud Design. I colored Bethany in with my prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS, added 3 Dew Drops, stardust stickles to her wings and heart seeds, fruit punch stickles on the flower in the sentiment and orange peel stickles in the center of the flower...lots of stickles. I actually put it on the dew drops as well, but I don't think you can see that in the picture.
That's all for today...we are watching the Academy of Country Music awards...Kirsten is a Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood fanatic....and she loves Lady Antebellum too and was so excited when they won!!!
Have a super night!

Lily & Milo-Straight From The Heart

Here is a card I just whipped up this afternoon. I love these adorable Rachelle Anne Miller stamps. I bought mine from 7 Kids College Fund and they have them all in stock right now just waiting to be purchased! I'll made it for my hubby for our 9th Anniversary (wow time flies!!!)which is coming up at the end of the month...good idea?? I did get a chance to use my Nesties...just cut out the sentiment with a regular circle and then used the scalloped one for the Wild Wasabi piece. I used this week's sketch from Friday Sketcher's Blog. I didn't get a chance to make last week's, although I really like Claudia's sketch ( I have it printed off ready to use though:-)) so I thought while I was makin' somethin', I would use this week's sketch from Beatrix. I have an image in mind for last week's, so hopefully I get to that this weekend.
Off I go, the kids and I are going to water trees tonight...it's been so stinkin' dry and they really need a drink. Lance bought some cow/calf pairs today and we are going to pick them up tomorrow, so the kids are pretty excited to have some extra critters runnin' around. Lance is off to visit his Mom right now. She has leukemia and colon cancer and is not doing very well, so he tries to go up to Strathmore everyday if he can to visit. The kids and I went last night to see her and it really lifted her spirits to see them, so we are going to go again tomorrow for a bit. It's hard to keep a 5 y.o and 2.5 y.o entertained at the hospital especially when they can't really comprehend the whole situation, but it makes Ursula's day to see them, so it's worth it to me. Having said that, if my posts are really sporadic, that's why. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Hope you have a wonderful evening! Thanks for taking the time to visit me and please do come back soon!!
Stamps: Lily & Milo-Rachelle Anne Miller, Sentiment-Aud Design

Droppin' You A Line

Well, my main image is a bit small...actually I had a smaller, proper piece cut and mounted for this image and this one was actually for another image for a different sketch, but I grabbed the wrong one and stuck it on my card and it's not movin'...so it's a little of kilter from Julee's Mojo 37 sketch, but it's close. I must say that my new ATG gun is awesome and the adhesive really sticks which is great, but there is definitely no room for oooopsies!! I also just noticed the last line of my sentiment is crooked...I am my own worst critic I'm sure:-) I thought Fishing Edwin is too cute and this SU Jersey Shore paper works great with him. I just colored him in with my CTMH markers on watercolor paper but didn't use my aquabrush and I think it turned out ok. I really like the softer look once the colors have been blended, but I really am not liking the results with my markers lately, especially blues and browns, so I thought I would just leave it this time.
Kirsten started soccer Monday in Bassano so we have a super busy Monday...to town in the morning for pre-school, Landon and I usually go to Brooks (about 20 minutes from Bassano, but Bassano is just a really small town, so brooks has all the bigger stores...Safeway, Wal-Mart, etc) and get groceries and then back to get Kirsten from school...home for a while, then back to town for soccer...but she absolutely loves it and actually Landon does too, so it works. I think Kirsten only goes to school until the end of the month anyway and then there is only 4 weeks of soccer left after that.
I am going to scoot and hit the hay...but I hope to back again tomorrow...I really have the best of intentions to get something done and posted, but sometimes life runs away on me!! Thanks for stickin' with me, poppin' in and leaving such wonderful comments, they really make me smile:-)

Mother's Day Card for Mom

Happy Mother's Day! I hope all you Moms out there had a super day!! I made this card for my Mom and gave it to her yesterday when we were over for a visit. I did make one similar the other day using this same paper and layout. With the one from the other day, I colored the bench in with CTMH markers and had a really tough time with them turning green when I blended it with my aquabrush (another reason Copics are on my wish list:-)) So I used Prismacolor pencils and OMS this time for the bench and am a lot happier with the results. I had this paper still out from my last card to and really liked it, so just went with it! I used CMTH markers for Tilda and SU pastels for the grass and sky which I now see didn't show up very well in this pict, but it's there I promise. I picked up these buttons a couple weeks ago at the scrapbook store in Okotoks when we were over visiting my parents. The colors are great, very trendy, so they match a lot of the fun lines out there now.
Well off I go to carry on my evening. Hope you had a great weekend as well. Thanks so much for stoppping by!

Mother's Day

Finally, I have one card done for Mother's Day!! Just one more to go. I made this card using Beate's Weekend Sketch #46 from last week as well as Beate's Chalkboard Technique. I am much happier with this version though...I decided it needed some glimmer, so I sprayed it with glimmer mist, but it definitely did not turn out how I envisioned it...ooops!!!
Short and sweet post today, we are off to town to run a bunch of errands!! Tomorrow we are going to my parents for dinner and then Sunday I think we will be going to visit Lance's Mom!
I hope to back tonight or tomorrow at some point with my other Mother's Day Card!! Have a super weekend!!!

Happy Birthday Dad!

I made this card for my Dad's birthday. It was actually last Friday, but Mom and Dad were in Sandpoint for the weekend, so we are having dinner for Dad's birthday and Mother's Day for Mom on Saturday over at my parents house. I always struggle with masculine cards and only have one birthday set with sentiments for the inside of cards...a couple for the outside, so the guys in my life always get the same one!! I am really happy with the way this turned out and my little horse loving 2 year old reeeeeaaaalllly loves it...so I think it's a hit!! Kirsten has already requested "one like it but a bit different" for her birthday:-)
I am working on a couple Mother's Days card too, so I'll be back tomorrow to share...or maybe today...we'll see how the day progresses. Thanks for popping by and have a wonderful day!!

Lily's Here!!

Kimmie's having a challenge to win some fun High Hopes stamps...and of course I'm pushing the wire with my entry, but I just finished it up. I just received my Rachelle Anne Miller, Lily & Milo stamps today from 7 Kids College Fund...so cute. I had a bit of trouble with my dimensions on this sketch, but I am happy with the final result. I used Diamond stickles on the big flower centers as well as the little star shapes. Colored it in with my CTMH markes and an aquabrush on watercolor paper and used TLC's Tressie Collection Papers!! Oh ya and some Primas too!!
So...if you would like to go shopping and save some moola, 7 Kids college Fund is having a big sale....20 % off most items (Lily & Milo, Sarah Kay, Cuttlebug Machine, Cricut, Core'dinations and clearance items excluded.) Just use code 20OFF and it's valid until May 12th...there prices are super...already below retail and her service is fabulous. I also got my ATG gun with my Lily stamps and just let me say...it ROCKS!! It's kind of big, but very light and so easy to get used to...
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful night!!

Shout Out To Sheetload!!

Hey check it out...Sheetload is a fun monthly e-zine with great card layouts, sample designs, etc. It's a perfect way to make a whole bunch of cards of the same design with usually just a few pieces of paper...I actually used one from a couple months back to fill the tin I made my Grandma, very cool, fun and super easy. Go check them out...this month's feature is Stamping Bella, how fun!!
My Mom is coming out for a visit today (my parents only live an hour away, but I haven't seen them for a couple weeks) and I'm looking forward to seeing her...as are the kids!! Plus, they got home from Sandpoint theother day and she was able to find the Lady Antebellum CD I've been after...of course now it's on iTunes, but oh well...I'm excited!!!
Have a wonderful day!!

My First Tilda Card!!

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend. We haven't really done too much...yesterday I got my hair cut & colored and Lance hung out with the kids. This morning we went up to visit Lance's Mom and Dad, came home for lunch, Landon went for a sleep, Kirsten and I raked up some of the dead grass hanging around out front and then we went for a walk to see the new baby calf born yesterday. He is a special little guy that's for sure...Kirsten has named him Wiggles Brownie...he has really crooked legs for some reason so he is super wiggly wobbly on his legs...and get this...he was born without a tail...WHAT!! How wild is that!!...so I am hoping to keep him as a "pet", we'll see what Lance thinks about that. So Woggles for the wobbly legs and he is a Red Angus calf, so that's close enough to bronw for her:-) After that we went for a walk down to the creek and Lance got a "big bike" for Kirsten out of the cabin, one with no training wheels. Both Lance and I have been running around the yard with her on her "big bike" and she is doing pretty good. The little monkey can feel as soon as you let go and then she's chicken, crazy girl...any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated!
As I mentioned before, I received my first order of Magnolia stamps last week!! I made a card with one of my Edwin's the other day, so I thought I would ink up Tilda this time. I also used the bench as well and this specific Tilda is Farmer Tilda. I used this sketch from Katharina's blog. Her sketch's are so wonderful, you can find them all here. I am having a hard time with my scalloped edges for some reason...I have the CTMH corner rounder (made by EK Success and has the guard like SU) , so I am not sure if maybe it is a wee bit different size than the SU ones or what the problem is, but I do have the SU slit punch, so I will try it with that next time. Now for some reason or another the bench looks really harsh in this picture, but it really isn't that bad IRL:-)
Thank so much for stopping by...I am really trying to post at least every second day if not every day, but sometimes it just doesn't work out:-) Anyway, thanks for stickin' with me and have a super Sunday!!

Altered Canvases & Blog Candy Alert

I went to a scrapbook retreat a while back and part of our goodie bag had 2 of these 6x6 canvases...well we actually had our choice of- 1-12x12 or 2-6x6...so with 2 children I picked the 2-6x6 ones. I covered them with Cosmo Cricket paper added a picture of each of them on their horse Buck, some ribbon and primas. The "wanna be a cowboy" is a rub on from the Rugged Creative Imaginations Swatch Book and the "ride baby ride" is from My Mind's Eye. I hung them up in my craft room, I know they are pretty simple, but I love seeing them every time I'm in here. Sorry that the pictures aren't super..it's a gloomy kinda day out.
On another note... Dawn over at Treasure Oiler Designz is celebrating her 1 year blog anniversary and is giving away some fun blog candy...go check it out. (You have to live in the US or Canada and have a blog!)
I hope you all have a super weekend...I'll be back tomorrow at some point..I am gettin' my hair done tomorrow...(gotta get rid of those pesky grey hairs!!) I am working on a cute lil' Tilda card, so stay tuned...
