Charming Edwin

I told you I'd be back...took me a little longer than I thought, but I'm here!! I love lil' Charming Edwin!! He is one of the 2 Edwin's I received on Monday along with 2 Tilda's and a fun bench. I had a ton of trouble with my blue CTMH markers...I think I really need Copics...actually really want them is more like it, but anyway. I ended up paper piecing his pants with the same paper that I matted the main image as well as the 2 side panels with. Just don't look too close..but I'm pretty happy with the final result. I got the circle sentiment stamps from Aud Design in Norway...shipping only took 7 days and they are fabulous! This one is from sheet 6B and I also ordered sheet 4B. Check 'em out! I started off with Julee's Mojo33 sketch and then added the primas and sentiment. I used Tutti Fruitti stickles on the roses and Stardust pen on Edwin's wings and the heart in the sentiment. Very sparkly IRL! I trimmed around the sentiment stamp and then popped it up on the PP circle underneath.

The parent night at playschool was a lot of fun. We did a few science experiments, the kids played Bingo and painted a Mother's Day plaque. Kirsten had a great night.

Off I go for tonight, we are hoping to go to my friend Brandi's house tomorrow..Kirsten and Landon really love to play with Spencer & Lexi, and of course it's so nice to have tea and a visit for Brandi & I too...so I may not be back until Friday, but maybe I can sneak some time tomorrow night:-)

Have a wonderful evening,

Tea-riffic Day

Hey everyone!! Hmmm, well I really had planned on sharing my Edwin card with you and I will...a bit later..I still have to take a picture, but have lasagna in the oven, hubby's on his way home and Kirsten and I are going to a parents night at playschool...so it will be later on after bedtime. With all of my good intentions to get things completed during the day...it is after the kids are in bed that I can actually concentrate and finish things up.

I made this birthday card for Kirsten's best bud Olivia...they are like 2 peas in a pod at school and quite enjoy each others company. They are actually only 4 days apart and so much alike...very much little girls...on the other hand Kirsten loves to be outside with her Dad hangin' out riding horses and Olivia plays hockey...so I guess they are a good mix:-)
I will be back later on with Edwin.....promise:-)

Magnolias

Hey there! I hope your day went well!! Unfortunately I don't have anything to show you tonight onthe craft front...still hoping to get it done here now that the children are in bed...hubby too!! I ordered some Magnolia stamps a bit ago from Joanna Sheen and I just got them in the mail yesterday. It took just over a week for them to get here and shipping was free! Awesome considering they came from England!! She doesn't have the brand new Summer Chic line, but for someone like me that didn't have any until yesterday, I was happy with the selection. Her customer service is super which is way more than I can say for Magnolia themselves!! I have heard before though that it is tough to communicate with Magnolia directly...I do have about 5 more stamps on order from them as well...if I ever hear back or they get shipped!!

On another note there was an issue with my Feedblitz widget, but I have now deleted the old one and configured a new one...so if you have been trying to subscribe to email notifications and couldn't, it's all good now...sorry for the trouble, but please do try again!!

I am just working on a card for Mother's Day using Charming Edwin...he is soo cute...hopefully I'll be back in just a bit with the finished product. Thanks for taking the time to visit me!!

Ssstanley's Sssaying Hello!!-Mojo34

Hey everyone, sorry this post is sooo late, but today kind of ran away on me! I have been meaning to make something with Julee's Mojo34 sketch from last week..but just got to it today. Terrible I know, but I am really hoping to have some time tomorrow to check out this week's sketch and maybe get one done in a timely fashion! Anyway, Stanley Snake here from High Hopes is too cute, dontcha think!! The orangey paper is actually CTMH Autumn Terracotta, but certainly doesn't look it in this photo. I tried to fix it but no such luck..best I can do in the basement with with zero light at 11:30 at night I guess:-)
Short and sweet tonight, I'm headin' to bed!! Have a super night!

Claudia's Blog Candy

WOW, is about all I can say!! This girl is super talented!! Claudia is close to 100 000 hits on her blog and is celebrating with this fun blog candy challenge. Here is the tutorial and a mighty fine one at that. All the details are on her site, have a look. I put 6 votives inside and will I will tuck a wee piece of tissue paper on top before I give it to someone special. I bought this paper at my LSS the other day and can't believe I've used it all up already...it's so very cute and double sided too! Thanks so much Claudia for the great tutorial and the fun blog candy!! Congrats on your blog and all your visitors, it really is fantastic!!
Well yesterday was quite the eventful day...Lance took both children to the bull sale. I was so looking forward to an afternoon of solitude, working on some projects and just some "me" time...but that didn't happen. I called Lance to see how things were going (first mistake!!) and he was ready to tie Landon up with duck tape (not that he would really do that or anything, but I'm, sure the thought crossed his mind) Kirsten was great but I guess Landon was a little tyrant!! Anyway, instead of letting him go crazy and struggle all afternoon to get some critter bought, I ended up going to the bull sale to handle the children (not sure what the issue was...they were angels for me:-)LOL!!! But anyway, he managed to buy 2 new bulls he is pretty happy with. Landon is so excited to have them come home to have a sleep over with us! Then had to go and do my clean up duty at the pre-school garage sale and lets just say cleaning up 16 tables of other peoples junk that didn't sell was not fun!! A lot of the clothes, kids toys, books and movies will go to the local women's shelter, so that's good, but some people brought in old coat racks that are broken, record players from 1970 I'm sure and other stuff that should have been in the recycle bin or garbage, but not a donation to try and raise fund for the preschool..anyway, off my soapbox now, glad that is done!
Today is absolutely beautiful out...so glad the snow is melting quickly! Hope you're having a wonderful day as well, thanks for visiting!

KHHC1-Hey There

I made this cute lil dude for Kimmie's High Hopes challenge 1, check it out, you could win some fun High Hopes Stamps!! I used the amazing tutorial from Ila found here to color monkey Mike in with Prismacolor pencils and OMS and also for the sky and grass. I don't have any of the Twinkling H2O's like Ila used, so I just went over some areas with a bit darker brown...I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out for my first go at it!! You gotta check her tutorial out, it is awesome!! I punched the sentiment out with the SU word window punch and popped it up on dimensionals. Anyway, you have until April 27th to enter Kimmie's contest if you are interested!!
I am so stinkin' excited that Grey's is back tonight!!! Ya, I already have the satellite set to record it so I can watch in peace when the children and hubby are sleepin'!

Sketch Challenge 173~SCS

Wow! I finally got around to getting a sketch challenge done on the actual day it was posted!!! I made this card for Miss Plicka, the owner of Just Dance where Kirsten does ballet. She is due around mid May I believe...but is measuring about 2 weeks big, so who knows when that wee one will make his appearance. I used the SCS sketch challenge # 173 this week for my layout and am pleased with the results!! I don't usually stamp on SU! Whisper White and then color in with markers, so I am not loving the lines, etc, but it's alright!! I also stamped the background with a baby rattle in Versamark, but it doesn't show up in the picture at all. I love the DCWV Nana's Kids slab and see that there is a Nursery Boy and Nursery Girl and Blossoms and Butterflies out now...I think I need to track them down:-)
Lance took Kirsten to pre-school today at it was our parent help day and her show and tell. this was the first time he has gone as the parent help....it's always me!! Anyway, they had a great morning together.
Tomorrow Kirsten and I will be baking some items for the garage sale on Saturday in Bassano. They have one every year and it is to raise funds for the Bassano pre-school, so we will be making Texas Brownies and Mars Bar Rice Krispies as our 2 baked items..may have to make a double batch of them though or they may not make it to the sale!!
Have a wonderful evening,

CTMH Monthly Project

This is the super fun project we made at our CTMH club meeting last night. The cover is made from the CTMH Let's Get Together Level 2 paper pack, ribbon and Just Blooms big colonial white blossom with a couple of buttons. The inside has double sided papers with all the color names grouped into the color families, etc on them and a check list so you can mark off what markers, inkpads, re-inkers, cardstock, etc you already have at home. Very fun idea, this way you'll know what you have and what you may need:-)
It snowed again today!! Wow, someone really needs to tell Mother Nature that is almost the end of April for crying out loud!
We just got home here a bit ago from our day in town! It's so nice to have Kirsten home!! So I should mosey and finishe getting groceries and such put away and then get supper going. The Flames play tonigh tin San Jose...a do or die game for them, GO FLAMES GO!!!!

Family Lacing Cards Set

I bought this Cosmo Cricket family lacing cards set a while back at my LSS and I absolutely love it!! It used to be on the mantle above our fireplace upstairs in the family room, but it now rests on top of our piano downstairs. Everything you need comes in the box and you just put it together however suits you, add the pictures and voila, you're done!! The picture doesn't really do it justice...as seems to be the case with all of my pictures, but it is soooo nice IRL!
I just got home from our CTMH monthly club meeting over at my friend Nikki's house. We made a cute little project and I'll show you tomorrow...suspense I know..sorry about that!! It''s really fun and a great idea!!
I am going to meet my Mom in Strathmore (about 40 minutes away) to pick up Kirsten tomorrow. We are going to meet for lunch and then do some shoppin' together, so I am really looking forward to it. I haven't seen my little peanut since Friday! Landon misses her to, saying " She's my sister" today when I asked him if he missed Kirsten, so it'll be nice to have her home although I know Mom & Dad and Auntie Bee thoroughly enjoyed their extended sleepover they had together!! Family is awesome!!
Have a wonderful evening!!

Dress Up Lily

Check out all that snow!! Lance was down in the corral checking the cows and couldn't see in front of him (ya right!!!) and drove right into this huge snow drift!!! Needless to say he had to get the tractor to pull himself out!!
Yay!! I finally had a chance to play with my new Dress Up Lily stamps from Pink Cat Studio! Isn't Lily adorable!! I also used Beate's weekend sketch. Her sketch's are always fabulous and I usually never get around to getting one done, but I had the chance today, so I am pretty happy about that!
Off I go to finish watching the Flames game!! They are winning 2-0 right now...GO FLAMES GO!!!!

Card Organizer

I finally got around to making one of these after seeing it on Dannie's blog. And again, once you can actually read and get the measurements correct, they really are easy! I'm not sure what my trouble is lately...but I kept scoring one of the pieces at 10" instead of at 10.5" and couldn't figure out why nothing matched up!!! Finally I sat down and read her measurements and new exactly what my problem was...so this was the 2nd attempt...the first one hit the garbage. I think I'll be making more of these real soon. Oh ya and the measurements and a video tutorial are on her site...go check it out!! There may be other tutorials out there too, but this is the one I came across first and it's wonderful.
I got some ribbon from Taylor a while back and this is the first time I have had a chance to use the twill...let me tell you, it is absolutely wonderful to work with...so silky and ties perfect:-)
It is crazy how much snow we have here...we attempted to go to the bull sale today, but turned around and came home. The snow was up to my thighs!! Nuts for the 19th of April!! It has been blowing and snowing all afternoon...hopefully it will stop tonight and clear up tomorrow, but who knows whats in store for us.
Kirsten is enjoying her sleepover with Auntie Bee (that's what she calls my sister Kim)!! We are going to wait and see what the weather is like tomorrow to see when she'll be coming home!! She may spend a night back at my Mom and Dad's if it is blizzard like out again...we'll see.
Landon is definitely enjoying the one on one time with Lance and I, but at the same time, he definitely knows Kirsten is not here...he also knows that she's at Auntie Bee's!
I think Lance and I are going to watch Knocked Up! I recorded it on the satellite DVR a while back when it was on TV so since there is not much on TV tonight and the Flames don't play again until tomorrow night, I think we'll watch a movie.
Have a wonderful evening and I sure hope you don't have 6" of snow where you are!

I'm Here...Really I am!!

I really am not MIA!! The kids and I went over to my parents on Wednesday afternoon and just got home this afternoon!! We ended up staying another night and it was great. Kirsten is actually staying the weekend at my sister Kim's house. Kim has lots of fun things planned for them this weekend, they're gonna bake, go shopping at Wally World and Michaels and hang out together, she'll love it, actually they both will! Lance, Landon and I are hoping to go and look at 5th wheel trailers tomorrow...we sold ours to Kim, so now we get to get a new one! It is snowing here now and supposed to all weekend, so we'll have to see if that is actually what happens or not...you never know with the weather around here! Anyway, after looking at 5th wheels I think we are going to go to a bull sale and have a look for some new critters!

I picked up a few fun things from a LSS and my Pink Cat Studios stamps arrived, so I need to get them mounted and inked up!! I can't wait!

I am really, really, really hoping to get something made this weekend! I have some fun TLC albums I just got in so maybe I'll work on one of those:-)

Hope to see you later, have a super weekend:-)

Criss Cross For You

I love these criss cross cards!! They are so easy and fun to make...well as long as you're not measurement challenged!! I had some difficulty getting the right measurements on a few of them when I was wanting to use double sided paper, but it's all good now! Here are 2 fun ones that I made.

Kirsten is feeling much better, thank you for all your well wishes for her. She still has a terrible cough, but not as persistent as it was before...just when she's running around or playing. I think she'll go to school tomorrow..we'll see how her night goes tonight. My Mom and sister are both going to see Brooks & Dunn and Alan Jackson tomorrow night, so the kids and I were going to go over to my parents and hang out with my Dad. I am hoping my other sister Kristy and her boyfriend Jason will come for a visit or even for supper! I haven't seen any of them since my sister Kim and I went to Rascal Flatts, so it'll be nice to have a visit! I am then leaving both children with my Mom & Dad on Thursday and will do a Costco trip and get groceries! Fun, fun!!

Thanks for stopping in and have a super evening!!

CTMH Serendipity Card Tin

What a weekend!! Kirsten has a terrible, terrible cold. Up all night coughing, awful blood shot eyes from all the coughing...not fun. All 4 of us had a snooze this afternoon and got caught up on some sleep. Kirsten's eye's finally look a bit better and she is a but spunkier, so I think she is feeling somewhat better! Now just for the terrible barking cough to go away.

I made this tin and a set of 10 cards out of the Serendipity pack from CTMH (sorry for the wonkiness of my picts...I can't seem to get them to go where I want them so they look kinda normal...). I actually made it as an entry for the contest they were having, but of course didn't win...check out the winning entries Serendipity Contest Winners. It was fun to put your mind to work..although I didn't win, show or place, I still really enjoyed it!! Maybe one of these days I'll bring home the big one:-)
I also wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Sammi for the Arte Y Pico award, thanks so much:-)
I really need to get in gear and get some things done! Hopefully Kirsten will be feeling better and I'll be getting some more sleep and then I'll get on some fun sketches!! Jen's SFYTT is wonderful and Julee's are always super!!
Off I go now for now to watch the Flames game...they are loosing horribly already!! I finally did get all my High Hopes stamps cut and mounted...so be on the lookout for some fun jungle dudes this week!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend, thanks for popping by!
All items used for this project are by CTMH...well other than the tin itself:-)

Sketch For You To Try-Lizabeth Biking Angel

Jen has some super sketches and it sometimes takes me a few days to get one done, but they're great fun. I love little Lizabeth Biking Angel from High Hopes. I stamped her with Timber Brown Stazon on watercolor paper and then colored her in with CTMH markers and an aquabrush. I did make a light sky, but it's hard to see in the pict. My layers are a bit off from the sketch because my main image is so large. I had these great plastic flowers from American Crafts that I bought because I thought they were funky but haven't done anything with!! 2 of them are white-although they look lilac or something in the picture and the other is a coral pinky kinda color that actually matches the coral TLC cardstock really well IRL!! I used some Karen Foster rhinestone brads, 2 in pink in the centre of the white flowers and 1 in green in the centre of the coral flower and that's about all! I seem to be leaving sentiments off the front of my cards lately...why I'm not sure, maybe because some of the images I have been using are larger and there isn't any room left...oh well, there's lots of room on the inside!
Thanks for stopping by!

Ride 'Em Cowboy!!

I love this set!! I seem to have a tough time making "guy" cards, but this set definitely makes it easier. I did stamp the wind swirls at the bottom in versamark, but maybe I should of used Really Rust or something instead, I think it would have showed up much better...oh well, maybe next time;-)

I finally got my Paint Shop situation figured out...although I am still using the watermark Dawn made me, I quite like it, but will make a new one in a bit! I must say now that I have the proper version of everything installed correctly, I really like the software.

I just received my newest order from High Hopes and they are fabulous...can't wait to get them all mounted and inked up! Off I go to get started!

Have a super evening and thank you so much for stopping by!

Sweet Little Baby Pram

OK, I finally figured out at least part of my watermark creating issues...the so called "upgrade' I bought and installed really wasn't, so I am just getting that all figured out and should be good to go by tomorrow:-)
I made this cute little baby pram card for a Sarah and Mark, who welcomed a sweet baby girl at the end of Feb...a leap year baby actually!! I used the pattern provided in the March issue of Paper Crafts and went to work. I think it turned out pretty cute and think I'll make a boy one. Miss Plicka who is the owner of Just Dance where Kirsten does ballet...is expecting a baby boy in about 6 weeks...but I think I'm going to wait until she actually has the baby (see this post) before making it:-)
After reading Lauren's post about being able to personalize the name on the package of stamps from Pink Cat Studio, I thought that would be pretty fun. I scooted over and bought a Billy set that will come with Landon's name on them, not that he'll care, he's only 2, but I also bought the Dress Up Lily set and they will come with Kirsten's name on them. She is 5 and loves to stamp or really just create anything, so she'll be so excited!! Melissa is fabulous, so hop on over and check out all of her other fantastic stamps!!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a wonderful evening!!

A Little Something

What a funny weekend we've had weather wise...it snowed yesterday, but had melted byt he afternoon and then this morning it was super foggy, but now the sun is shining! Alberta weather I guess...give it 10 minutes and it'll change!

I made this card a few days ago and still can't decide if I like it or not..I think it maybe needs some Primas or something:-) Anyway it will go tot Lance's Grandma this week with picts of the kids in it.

I have been having the worst trouble making a watermark...now I know it shouldn't be rocket science and can't for the life of me figure out why I'm having such difficulty??? However, I'm not totally without...my friend (I'm gonna call her my friend although we've never met cause she is so darn nice and I think if we do ever meet, we'd be good friends:-)) Dawn made me the wee one you can see on the bottom left of this picture. I seem to be having resizing issues as well. I don't know if my issue is that the PSP version I have was installed on my Dell computer when I bought it and I just upgraded so maybe I am missing something or what, but it has stumped me and I don't do well when something wins over me...no fear though, I'll figure it out...soon:-) dawn is probably laughing hysterically at the fact I must seem like such a dimwit:-)

Anyway, off I go to tackle this wee issue of mine! Have a wonderful afternoon and thanks for stopping by!!

With Love ~SBS 15 First Sketch Challenge

Slowly but surely I am getting around to getting Kirsten's ballet picts sent out to the Grandma's and made this one for my Grandma who lives in Ontario. This is the sketch from our first SBS 15 sketch challenge issued by our wonderful leader Monica. It also happens to be a fabulous sketch from Jen del Muro's blog, i{heart}2stamp. I'm not sure that I'm loving the solid green piece of CS, but all in all I think it turned out OK.
I am headed to the post office today to pick up a package from Jacksonbelle Embellishments...I kinda forget what I ordered, so it'll be an extra special treat when I open it up!! I don't think we have too much in store for the weekend...could always finish organizing my daughter's room I guess, but we'll see.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Everything Nice for Lynnise

Everything nice is the name of this stamp set and it is too cute!! It is from TAC and this is the first time I've actually used this image, but have had it for a while...she is so cute!! There is a boy image as well that is just as cute...it is retired now....of course, that always seems to be the way it goes when you find something you love! Anyway, I made this card for my cousin in Utah. She will be turning the big 3-0 on the 10th and I wanted to send her a little something. I thought I might as well tuck in a family pict and one of Kirsten's ballets picts as well while I'm at it!!! Hope she likes it!
We are going to visit a friend of mine tomorrow morning so I can pick up some SU goodies I ordered a while back and we missed Lexi's birthday, so we are finally getting around to take the sweet little girl her birthday gift! Both Kirsten & Landon are excited to got for a visit and so I am.
Off I go, thanks for popping by and have a wonderful evening!
