Friday Sketchers~For You

Ok, well I had really good intentions...(feel free to skip to the card below if you would rather not read the chit chat)...I had planned to clean my pantry out, but instead Lance got our cold that the kids and I had this past week and wasn't feeling well, so he just hung out with the kids and I on Friday! He went roping this morning and then moved cattle, it is supposed to rain tomorrow, so he thought it would go much better if he did it today when the weather was decent. Tomorrow he is roping again but should be home late afternoon sometime! He decided to stay overnight close to where his next roping is instead of driving all over!

My Mom called this morning to let me know that my Grandma fell last night and broke her hip and is in hospital awaiting surgery, maybe a partial replacement or maybe it will just need to be pinned. She is almost 80 and so active, walks everywhere, so while this will definitely be a setback for sure, I am hoping because of her otherwise good health that she'll be able to recover well. I am hoping to leave the kiddos with Lance on Monday and I'll go into Calgary to see her. I have already sent flowers, so at least she knows we are thinking of her!!

Onto my card for today! I used sketch #17 by Claudia for this weeks Friday Sketchers (oh and it is her birthday tomorrow/today depending when you are reading this, so please pop on over and give her your wishes:-) I used another SU set that hadn't seen ink yet!! I really do love this one too and the Berry Bliss paper, too bad it's retired (but I do have another package in hiding;-)

I added lots of little tiny pearls to the flowers so I thought I would take a picture of the details well....it was so time consuming getting those tiny things on there!! They come on a strip, so I cut off each one, but they are pretty teeny tiny for my chubby fingers...

Happy Birthday Claudia, I hope you have an absolutely wonderful day full of laughter and cheer!!

I hope all is well with each of you this wonderful long weekend! Thank you for taking the time to visit me on my blog and check out what's happening in my world!

SC191~ Embrace Life

Helo, hello!! How's your week going so far?? I'm looking forward to the weekend although this is Lance's last Friday off...he gets every Friday off during the summer and this is the last one (boo!!) I hope to get some stuff done around the house tomorrow...like cleaning out my pantry! It looks like a bomb went off in there and is desperate need of some TLC!! So, I am hoping Lance will keep the kids occupied for a few hours, maybe take them for a horse ride.
Anyway, here is what I have come up with for this week's sketch challenge over at SCS. I haven't yet used this stamp set...it sat all alone in my drawer, but I had this idea as soon as I saw the sketch. Only one boo boo though...I didn't really mean for the stardust stickles wiggly thingies to be there, but my chubby fingers made a mistake and so I added those as a little extra and to cover up my initial error! Oh well, I think it looks funky with them there!

The kids and I were in town today doing a bunch of running around and then got groceries!! Lance is off roping tonight so the kids and I are just relaxing! I bought them the new Ariel movie, so they are occupied with that while I type this up:-)

I hope you have a great evening. Thanks so much for stopping by!

My ATC for SBS 15 Swap

I signed up for a swap within my SBS 15 group and here is what I've come up with. Cover your eyes Joana, it's on the way:-) I am so used to coloring in Magnolia and High Hopes stamps lately, but so many of them are too big for an ATC...well maybe if you were more creative you could come up with something, but I am quite happy with the way these 2 turned out considering they are my very first ATC's ever...I know, but it's true:-)

I decided to make Joana 2 of them, and here they are...

I took a bit of a detailed shot here to show the wee little pearls I put on the purple flowers as well as the Liquid pearls on the pink ones and then the star dust stickles on the lower purple flower...

That's all I have for you for tonight. Lance is gone roping to get a bit of practice in before he weekend. he has 2 rodeos this weekend as it is the last long weekend of the summer here in Canada!! Kirsten will be having her kindergarten orientation on the 4th and then will start kindergarten the next Tuesday!! I can't believe she is already to go to kindergarten, but she is so excited, so that makes it much easier!!

A bit shout out to Lance's Aunt Linda and his cousins in Denmark, Eric, Belinda & Saniya!! Hi guys and I'm so happy you found me out here in blog land!!

Have a wonderful evening!!

On the road again!

Just thought I would check in really quickly here. We are over at my Mom and Dad's this whole week. They do have Internet but it's dial up and it is so sloooooooowwww.

Landon and I are in a Mom and tot's swimming lessons from 11-11:30 and then Kirsten has her lesson right after us. We go every day this week and then my parents, sisters and husband are having a BBQ on Saturday for my 30th birthday!! My actual I will be MIA still for a bit longer, but will definitely be catching up once we get home:-) I have my ATC card to finish up (sorry Joana, it will be on it's way next week)

Wishing a Happy Birthday to my SBS sisters Yesy (yesterday, sorry I'm late) and Pam (Aug 22) Happy Birthday ladies and I hope you have a wonderful day:-)

Catch up with you all next week when things get back to a bit more of a normal pace...now that I say that, I realize it is the last long weekend of the summer for us Canadians and I think we are going camping, but once summer is over and school starts, things will definitely not be so busy!!

Thanks for hangin' in there with me, have a wonderful day!!

Birthday card for Lance~Friday Sketchers 15

I decided I better get my butt in gear and get a card done for my wonderful husband who's birthday is on Tuesday. The kids and I are going over to my Mom and Dad's tomorrow night after supper and will be there all week, but we are hoping to meet Lance for supper and such for his birthday on Tuesday. I used Friday Sketchers Blog Sketch #15 from yesterday for my card layout!

It's a really fun sketch and the DT has awesome samples...as always I might add!! The tractor and sentiment is from Little Paper Shop and the paper, circle/brad embellie thingies and the hemp twine are from CTMH. I love these images from the Little Paper Shop, they have great vehicles and such to use for masculine card such as an old truck, old car, ATV, monster truck and this tractor...check em out!!

Off I go for tonight. I have inked up one of my cute Whiff of Joy stamps for an ATC swap with my SBS sisters, so stay tuned for that:-)

~ Kelly

Guess what came in the mail today.......

My Whiff of Joy Stamps!! Wow, talk about fast shipping too...they left Switzerland on the 11th and were at the post office yesterday!! Man, things take a lot longer than that just to get across Canada or from the US!. I ran up to get some milk and thought I might as well grab the mail as we are gone all next week,. I was thinking that there would just be the usual weekend flyers in there and there was...along with an envelope from Whiff of Joy!! I am just going ot scoot and get them mounted uo and get stamping!! I will have somethingto show you a little later today/tonight! Be sure to check out the Whiff of Joy gallery...it's awesome!!
On another note, Landon fell and bonked his head pretty good last night, so he didn't have the best sleep...so we are off for a snooze now, but I'll be crafting up a storm when we get up from our little cat nap!!
Have a wonderful day!!

Finished Puzzle Box

Well slight change of plans with the puzzle I made the other day . Kirsten is over at her best buddy Olivia's house for a play date today and she decided to take the puzzle with her to give to Olivia instead of giving it to Laurel for her birthday next week...after all Laurel's birthday is over a week away, so I'll make another:-)

Here is the box I made to hold the puzzle. I used the directions found within the puzzle tutorial on Lacey's blog. I think it turned out too cute if I may say so myself!!
Here it is with the finished puzzle, sorry for the wee bit of scrap paper in the background of my pict....

Landon and I are just chillin' out this afternoon. we are going to scoot over to my friend Nikki's house to pick up the new CTMH catalog..I have seen some sneak peaks and it looks fabulous!! I don't yet have a new SU one, but have had a peak and it looks great as well!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful afternoon/evening!!

A Puzzle for you!

Actually I made this for Laurel (it's her birthday next Saturday), a little girl in Kirsten's pre-school class and hopefully they will be together in kindergarten in Sept.

I saw this on Lacey's blog but haven't had the chance to get one done until now. It really was alot of work by the time I stamped and masked everything off to stamp the fence again and color it all in, etc..but as soon as my daughter watched it go through the Cuttlebug as a 41/4 x 51/2 piece and come out as a puzzle, I knew it was all worth it and that I'll definitely be making many more of these. I think Laurel will love it too. Thanks Lacey for the awesome tutorial.!! I just found Lacey's blog and I really don't even know where from, but she's a very talented gal, check out her blog. She also has a wee box for the puzzle to go in and I will be making one to match, just haven't gotten that far yet!! I will definitely post it though once I have it finished!!

Here it is all colored in, added Stickles and Twinkling h2os, just waiting to be puzzled....
Voila...after a quick run through the CB...here it is...oh and I used 2-140lb watercolor paper pieces (41/4 x 51/2) and a piece of SU Whisper White in the middle. It was a tough roll through the CB, but it all worked good:-)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!! Enjoy:-)

We're Home

We are home from holidays now, although I wish we were still there. It really sucks (for lack of a better word) to say goodbye to family when you are the only ones leaving!! My sister and her boyfriend are home now, but away at a wedding today, my other sister Kim will be home tomorrow and then my parents will be home Thursday or Friday. Only a week at home for us and then we are headed over to my Mom and Dad's for a week as the kids are in swimming lessons!!

I do have some birthday cards that I need to get a move on for the next few weeks, so give me a bit to get back in the groove of things and wade through my mountain of laundry and I'll have a card or 2 or about 4 to show you:-)

Here are a couple picts from holidays, hope you enjoy:-)

Thanks for stoppping in:-)
