I really love the digi image (from Sweet n Sassy) that is a freebie (only a $5 donation gets you some fun freebies) right now (only until tomorrow at midnight) over on the Stampin Out Alzheimer's site and wanted to take part in the Sweet N Sassy card challenge.



I popped up the largest flower as well as the bud on the bottom and the sentiment. All paper is from SU Raspberry Tart and Kiwi Kiss cs. I also added some glitter with my spica glitter pen to the insides of each flower and on the sentiment as well.

The kids had a fabulous time at the birthday party today. It was such a nice day that everything was outside! They ran through the sprinkler and played on a fun inflatable water slide and pool thingie, it was awesome!

I am wiped tonight, so I am going to hit the hay, but I hope to finish up another SOA challenge or 2 by the deadline!

I'm Glad There's You-SOA Challenges-LPS

Wow, Stampin Out Alzheimer's has a ton of super challenges going on right now. For a minimum $5 donation you get access to some super fun freebies and a ton of challenges with super prizes, not to mention the money goes to a fantastic cause.

This card is for the Little Paper Shop sketch challenge. I used one of the sweet digi images from Little Paper Shop called Katie Swing.



I used some gorgeous new paper from CTMH called Bella and I love it, so very pretty! My sentiment is from Aud Design and the fabulous rhinestones are BG Bling It in lilac/violet I bought from Summer at Roses on Paper. I covered the butterfly and the flower in Katie's hair with Shimmerz.

If you have a chance and $5 to spare, you should definitely head on over to Stampin Out Alzheimer's and check it out. I believe all of the challenges are open until May 31st at midnight, so there is still lots of time to get crafting!

Just Magnolia #3

Just Magnolia Challenge #3 is a fantastic sketch from Bev. I used one of my older Tilda's but she is one of my favs.

I just used clear Dew Drops on my flourish and the top left side and lower right and they don't show up so well, but definitely look better IRL than in the photo. I colored the flower garland in her hair with my Spica Glitter pens and it shimmers oh so nice.

It is a fabulous rainy morning here so far...we need rain in a bad way out here in the boonies. The cows need something to eat, so the rain is nice so the pasture sets growing. Not sure how much it will amount to but it's welcome.

Dance in the Rain~ASFOS~50 & FS~50

Kirsten hasn't been feeling well so I kept her home from school Monday and then again today. She does feel better today but has a terrible nagging cough so I thought I would keep her home again today and hopefully have a quiet day at home and a low key weekend and she can go back on Monday feeling 100%. It's tough because she feels OK but she can't run or play around at all or she has a coughing fit, so that's been life around the Schelske household the last few days.

Anyway, I was able to get a card done that will fit 2 challenges. The layout for my card is sketch # 50 from the Friday Sketchers blog, fab sketch Bea!! It will also fit the A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge #50 this week which is touchy feely. I used liquid glass on the umbrella and rain and some fun 3-D Scribblez on her wings, ribbon from the April TEKI kit (all paper is from the same kit too) and some fun Primas and goodies.


This beautiful image is from Paper Makeup Stamps and her name is Emma. The sentiment is also from Paper Makeup.

April Taylored Expressions Kit Subscriber Challenge

I was so excited to get my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients April Kit last week in the mail. This is my second kit from a 6 month subscription and they are fabulous. Beautiful papers, gorgeous ribbons and glitter, awesome cs, it's a fantastic deal. As part of the subscribers monthly challenge, you just have to create anything using items from the kit. I know I am late on this one, but here's what I made...

I used SU's Baroque Motifs for the image and Little Paper Shop's Bound By The Heart stamp set for my sentiment. I know the "mother" part of the sentiment is hard to read as I stamped it in CTMH Breeze to match the blue aqua paper, but it's there, I promise, I just didn't leave a blank space!! Everything else is from the April TEKI kit, the white cs is TE Choice in white, the kit comes with ivory though. I popped up the sentiment and the pink flowers that I cut apart from the ribbon. I just love these papers and everything coordinates, just my cup of tea for sure!!

Just catching up on some laundry today, that's about the excitement in my world!

Teacher Anya~ASFOS#48

I love Anya's ans Ian's and Miss Anya's and well anything really from The Greeting Farm. I decided to make this card and I'm not really sure who it will be going to right this second, but I do have someone in mind. I used Caryn's great sketch over on the A Spoon Full of Sugar blog for my layout and Teacher Anya.

I really love SU's Pacific Point, so I paired that with Kiwi Kiss and some fun new October Afternoon paper I bought from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. It's called Light Night Charles and Picnic Basket. I used my fun new Flourish Accent Shapeablilities as well. After I cut and embossed the flowers I added some glitter with my stardust glitter pen and popped them up on dimensionals onto the flourish pieces that were cut out of Riding Hood Red SU cs. I used my green Spica glitter pen for the apple leaf and Scribblez for the apple. Not really "girly" colors, but I am actually really pleased with how it turned out!

Ok, so it's April 27th today right...well, we have about an inch of snow today!! The roads weren't great this morning taking Kirsten to school, but they should be better this afternoon once the highway maintenance people get out there. So not fun for this time of year, but we do live in Alberta, so I guess that's life! No T-ball tonight, so that's good because I didn't buy Kirsten a ball glove!! Ooooops, I guess she kind of needs one for that, but we'll get her hooked up for next Monday!

Just Magnolia2~AMRYS2~Lostie

Good Sunday evening everyone! Wow, another week flew by. I finally had a chance to make a card today. I used the colors-Pink & Green from the Just Magnolia Challenge #2 and then Amy's sketch for the layout. I kind of added some extra layers and another flower, but I hope that's ok. I used one of the Magnolias from the Spring Kit, love this kit, such cute images!!

I used my new Label 4 nesties that I picked up at a LSS when I was in Calgary last week, so glad I finally found some!! All cs is from CTMH and pp from DCWV Girls Nursery stack. I added some flower soft for the "grass" and used bubblegum Shimmerz on her wings! Added some fun CTMH Sorbet ric rac, 2 lovely Primas with some spacers and a wee pearl.

We had such a fun time at the Hannah Montana movie, it was great. Kirsten and I went shopping earlier in the day and that was so much fun. I don't often get to do too much just Kirsten and I so it was a real treat for both of us.

I had a comment and a couple of emails asking for pictures of our calf, so after supper tonight when we went out to feed him I snapped a couple...here is Lostie after his supper was finished...Kirsten called him that and thinks that if he finds his Mama, she will call him Lost & Found!! Pretty good theory!!

Off I scoot for story and bed time for my kids, it's been a long week and Kirsten is back to school 3 days this week and T-Ball is supposed to start if the weather is decent, butit is supposed to snow tomorrow, so I doubt we'll be going to ball.

Birthday Wishes From Tilda-Just Magnolia#1

Oh my, it's been a while since I've posted!! Saturday went very well, all the invitations are done and just need to be mailed...but the envelopes are here and my sister is in Calgary, so they will have to wait until Thursday when I meet up with her.

Just Magnolia is a new challenge blog out there and the first challenge is up and running with a fabulous prize. The first challenge is a sketch and here is my card for it.



I really love this sweet Tilda and this is definitely one of my favorite paper lines right now too!

Happy Easter-SSSC10 & ASFOS #44

Ya, I finished a card and it works for 2 challenges. Over at A Spoon Full of Sugar, the challenge this week is to make an Easter card, so it works for that, plus I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #10 for the layout!!

I used a cute bunny from High Hopes (the sentiment is from HH as well)and some left over Imaginisce-For Peep's Sake paper, love that stuff!

Really short and sweet today, I need to jump in the shower and get ready to head over to Okotoks to my parents. Later this afternoon we'll head into the city to do some shopping. I am hoping to get to a Michaels and check out what`s new...I never go so there should be some fun goodies. I am also in desperate need of some EZ Mount to get my Magnolia Spring Kit mounted so hopefully my LSS will have some in stock...crossing my fingers!

Tooth Fairy Box-HH #23~Buttons Galore

Yahoo, I've finally finished Kirsten's tooth fairy box. I used one of Lauren's Timeless templates from Papertrey Ink. I bought a few of them because they are so fabulous and beyond versatile. I wish I had an ounce of that girl's talent. For this box, I used the Captured Card Case template for this box and think it'll work perfect. Maybe a tad big for a little tooth, but it fits the image I wanted:-)

Speaking of image, this fabulous tooth fairy is from High Hopes Stamps and I just love it. The teeth, toothbrush and tooth floss are from High Hopes as well. This week's challenge over on the High Hopes Stamps Blog is buttons galore, so I have used a bunch (well only 6) co-ordinating buttons from My Mind's Eye to go along with the paper from CTMH. I covered her wings and wand with diamond stickles and put a rhinestone in the middle of the wand. I covered the teeth with crystal Scribbles which is actually kinda fun, it's like liquid glass or crystal effects but with some sparkle to it, so it's 3-D. The tooth floss(I cut off the string that is a part of the image and added some floss instead, the teeth and the toothbrush are all popped up on dimensionals.

Kirsten is pretty excited about it, she loves it. Her one bottom tooth is super wiggly and it's funny to watch her eat because you can tell it bothers her. I told her I would pull it out for her :-) but she doesn't like that idea too much!

The skating carnival went well yesterday. Landon was so tired, he could hardly stay awake for his turn, but they had fun! We are having my FIL, Larkin down for supper tonight, so I should mosey and get some things done around the house:-)

Roses on Paper Challenge #7

I was so excited to see that I had won the second prize on Lim's blog-o-versary draw the other day, thanks so much Lim, I can't wait to get some new goodies:-) It's a $20 gift cert to Roses On Paper which is a company new to me. So I checked out their website, lots of fun goodies, but Summer also has a blog as well as a Roses On Paper Challenge blog. It is a great sketch this week, so I thought I would play along.

I have used some yummy new SU paper called Raspberry Tart, love it, so rich and beautiful, with some funky Kiwi Kiss thrown in with the great pinks, red and coral too fun!! It seemed a little plain so I added the dew drops and flowers and leaves, but I'm not happy with it now either, so not sure...everything is stuck down though, so there is no going back now!!

I really love Miss Anya's from The Greeting Farm, they are fun to color and so pretty! Kirsten loves them too!

We had a crazy busy day today, so I haven;t got much of anything done...better scoot to get a go on supper!!

Hello~ Mojo 76 & HH 20

I made this card this morning for 2 challenges this week. I would love to be able to have enough time to be abel to make one card per challenge, but unfortunately my days only have 24 hours in them and not 72 like I would need! This card will work for 2 fun challenges this week though. First, High Hopes Challenge #20 is "That Fuzzy Feeling" and I used both liquid applique and fun flock on the bunny's tail, under her ears and her chest.

The second challenge it works for is this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #76 ...and...since it's the first challenge of the month, there's a stamp set up for grabs too!!

We are headed over to my parents today when I pick Kirsten up from school. The kids and I have dentist appointments tomorrow morning so we will get a visit before hand too. My sisters will come out for supper as well, so it'll be great!

Happy Birthday Miss Anya~Friday Sketchers #41

I'm so excited, I finally have my Miss Anya's!! They are so cute!! I still had this paper out from the other day, so I went with that and used Friday Sketchers Challenge #41 for my layout. At Christmas time we had a secret sister swap within our SB 15 group and I was lucky enough to receive a gift certificate to River City Rubber Works. The happy birthday background stamp is from there and I love it. These girls are so sweet!! I have a couple more already colored, but will make them into cards later this week. Kirsten and Landon are invited to a birthday party tomorrow afternoon, they are excited to go and have fun. Poor Landon is only 3 and at this age they don't have any concept of time, so whenever anyone has a birthday, he thinks his is the same day...poor little guy, it'll be a long wait until November!!

Thinking of You-ASFOS#40

Since Julia from Little Paper Shop released her adorable digi images, I knew I wanted some!! These girls are just adorable! I have used Kaite Swing for this card, but they are all fabulous, some really cute Easter ones too. So affordable and easy to use. Luckily, I didn't have any issues when coloring with my Copics, I did nothing different than with my Anya & Ian card, but I take it. I made this for Kirsten's teacher as she has been on medical leave for a bit now due to some major back problems. Kirsten really misses her and school just isn't the same without Mrs. Ballance. This is also my entry for this week's A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #40 which is called Shape Shifters. You are to make a card that is something other then a square. I had some of these scallop circle pieces that I had bought from SU a while back and thought they would work perfect. It's so much harder figuring a layout with a circle than it is a square or rectangle!

I drew a line and added some funky grass cause I thought she needed to not look like she was swinging in mid air and didn't really know how to do that. I then just used my SU pastels for the sky and grass around her. The grass I did with my marker looks a bit wonky, maybe I should of just left the line instead...oh well, next time maybe:-)

I did start my organizing project a bit today. I am still in the assembly mode though. Buying everything from Ikea is great, but now I have to put it all together!! I just have one smaller box done so far, I was going to put all my Copics in there, but I think I may have changed my mind. I'll still need it anyway though so it's a good thing it's already assembled. My Expedit unit will probably be the last thing I put together. I will keep you posted and when everything is good to go, I'll post some picts...not the before ones though, it's a disaster in here:-)

Birthday Wishes From Gavin~HH19

How cute is this guy? I realize cute and dragon probably aren't words you would think of together, but he really is sweet with his arm full of presents. I made this for my cousin's son whose b-day is next week..I hope it gets to Utah in time:-)I used Gavin the Gift Givin' Dragon from High Hopes along with SU paper called Jersey Shore from the Spring & Summer 2008 catty. It's perfect paper for boy cards. I colored Gavin in with my Copics and added some glitter to the bows and his scales with my Spica glitter pens. The sentiment is from SU-Circle of Friendship set and the buttons are a sizzix die (they are in the SU catty now though). I ran the Wild Wasabi piece through my CB with the Happy Birthday folder and used my label 2 nesties to cut out Gavin and the mat.

The challenge over at High Hopes this week is to use sponging, so I sponged the sky and ground around Gavin. I'm not a great sponger that's for sure. I masked Gavin and did my best, even tried adding a cloud or 2 (although it's not very noticeable). I definitely need my practice on this one, but I guess that's why it's a challenge!!

Guest Designer~A Spoon Full of Sugar!

Yay!! I was so excited when Nikki asked me if I would be a Guest Designer for this week's A Spoon Full Of Sugar challenge! It's a lovely sketch by Debbie and I really hope you get a chance to play along.


I used one of my very favorite High Hopes stamps-Trish Tea Angel and paired it with some new CTMH paper called Emporium, love it! I stamped Trish on SU Shimmery White cs and colored her in with Copics, love them on this paper.

We had a great day with my parents and sisters yesterday. WOW, my Mom and Dad look like they live in the Bahamas!!!

Kirsten is off school all week as well as no skating on Thursday, so I am hoping to get over to my parents later this week for an actual visit...kind of tough to visit with them when the kids are so excited they are back which is awesome anyway, but it's nice to chat after the kiddos are in bed or are preoccupied. I also need to make a trip to Ikea to get some goodies to start my sraproom organization project. It will definitely be a work in progress for a bit, but I have some ideas to get going anyway. My Dad came down here this afternoon and asked when the bomb went off, so I guess that;s a pretty good indication that it needs help!! I know my way around just fine...LOL!!

I am so excited to say that this is the final card for Kraftin Kimmie's week long Birthday Challenges and I am so proud of myself for completing every single challenge.

On this challenge you needed to use a boy or girl image along with some flowers. So I used Little Missy from High Hopes who coincidentally is carrying a bouquet of flowers, but my pattern paper and ribbon has flowers as well as the hydrangeas I punched with my MS punch, so I've got it covered.

I used the High Hopes Guest Designer Call sketch (Challenge #17 sketch) again as I really like it but also because I am going to try out for the guest designer spot with High Hopes and making a card with this sketch is part of the requirements. Oh my gosh, it would be fabulous to be a GD for 3 months...that would be fabulous!! I know there will be a ton of others just as eager as myself, so I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Today is Kirsten's last day of school until the 23rd, so I'm excited to have some hang out time! We got all of her Valentine's done last night and she took them to school today as it is their party day. She wore one of her new Hannah Montana shirts that is pink and red and has a bunch of hearts on it, so she was very festive!! I'll have to take a pict when she gets home, she looked so cute!!

Anya & Ian KKBC5

How cute are these two!! Meet Anya & Ian from The Greeting Farm ! I couldn't wait for my stamps to arrive, so I bought a digi download to use right away. I also used the sketch on the Club Anya blog and paired it with pattern paper and hearts which are the criteria for Kim's Birthday Challenge #5...only one more to go and I did them all!!

I didn't go crazy with the pattern paper, but it's there!! I really love this paper too, it's called That's Amore and is from CTMH. I used my hearts CB folder as well as a clear heart from TLC that I covered in the same pattern paper! Lots of sparkle too...stardust stickles, spica pen and stardust glitter pen too!! I am really loving it!! Not sure what I'm doing with this card yet...I could use it for V-day, but I also need a couple of engagement cards and think it would work for that too. Speaking of engagement one of Kim's best friend's, Stephanie just got engaged on the weekend...Congrats Steph & Kippy!!

Off I toodle, the kids and I are getting Kirsten's Valentines ready for tomorrow...nothing made by me though, she picked her own cards out from the store and we bought valentines pencils & erasers for everyone too!! Landon picked out his own set as well and wants to send them to his friends (Kirsten's friends) too!! So cute..he has them on the table in order as to who gets which one..to much fun!

Tons of Love~KKBC4 & HH17

Over on the High Hopes blog there is a fabulous sketch by Katharina for their challenge this week, so I paired that with Kimmie's Birthday Challenge #4 which is to use an animal stamp and ribbon or ric rac on your card and here's what I came up with.

I just love High Hopes stamps and made this card for a friend of mine who just had a beautiful baby boy. I made it a 5" x 7" card to better accommodate the sketch and am really pleased with how it turned out. I even have envelopes for this size! ! Must keep in mind to make some more like this!!

I was hoping that I would feel as good as new today, but no such luck...maybe a couple more days and I'll be 100% again!! Landon just got up and is so not feeling good! ! Poor little dude. He is watching is favorite rodeo movie and just hanging out on the couch!! It'll be a quiet day here today, so hopefully I can finish up my cards for the rest of Kimmies challenges!!

Challenges, challenges!

Wow it is amazing how far behind you can get when you are not feeling well!! I do feel a bit better today, so hopefully this sinus trouble is on it's way out.

We had a great time yesterday at the bowling alley!! Definitely the way to go, no clean up, perfect!! I will upload some picts once I get them all off my camera! My sister Kim and I were pretty camera happy, I think there is over 170 picts from yesterday's festivities!!

I made this card for 2 challenges, one is Kimmie's Birthday Challenge #3 which is having to use pink on your card and at least 1 button and the other is using sketch #38 over at Friday Sketchers.

I so love Daisy from Sugar Nellie...which by the way, you can purchase at Funky Kits. I used my Spica glitter pens again and just love the bit of shimmer they add...you can see it somewhat in the pict, it's s pretty IRL.

We are taking the kids skating today at 5, so I should scoot and get out of my jammies. I will be catching up on my google reader later tonight after the kiddos are in bed, so don't think I've forgotten about you, I'll pop on over and get caught up soon!
