Monday....oh my, how I will like you so much more when we are out of school this Friday!!  I missed last challenge at Seems A Little Sketchy but am back at it again this week!  As always, we have a fabulous new sketch for you to play along with.

Winged Things

Here I am typing up my post for tomorrow and I realized I did not post this card for my Dutch Dare project...sorry!  Our challenge for Dutch Dare this week is Winged Things and our lovely sponsor is Sweet N Sassy stamps!

I used such an adorable image from Sweet N Sassy called One Of A Kind for my image and the layout is from Decembers SFYTT...I just turned it:-)

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I finished up most of my Christmas shopping yesterday and just have a few things left to get and I'm done...now to wrap everything:-)

A Flower For You-DDCC134

So glad it's a short week this week and we're already at Thursday!  Since it's Thursday, it's Dutch Dare challenge time and I have my card all ready and on time this week!

I have used the sweet Molly's Flower from Sweet N Sassy for my image and of course the sketch on the Dutch Dare blog as it is a sketch challenge.  I used some fun papers from my September Taylored Expressions KI kit.  The buttons and ribbon are from the kit as well and I added some fun twine too!

The Sweet Stop Sketch #88

 

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for a fantastic 2011!!

Of course this post is scheduled as I hope I am tucked nicely into my warm bed...after just having gone to sleep a few hours ago from wrapping presents I'm sure...but still that's where I hope I am! My hubby has been in bed sick for 2 1/2 days so I am a tad bit behind schedule.  But right on schedule is my card for The Sweet Stop!!

I gave used the adorable Cocoa's Gift for my image and this card is for my brother in law, whose birthday we missed when we were in Vegas.  Sadly, this is my last card as a DT member for The Sweet Stop! My 6 month term is now finished and a fab new team of ladies await you!! No worries though, I love Korin's sketches and will be participating often!

Saturday, so glad you're here! It seemed like a really long week this week. Lance was out of town Tues-Thur, the fog was just terrible for driving the bus this week, so I am so glad it's the weekend!

It's The Sweet Stop time again and back with another fabbie sketch from Korin.

The Sweet Stop #84

Oh my gosh I am so thankful that today is a sleep in day..and just as thankful that I can schedule this post so that I can sleep in:-)  Today is The Sweet Stop sketch day and yet another fabbie sketch by our fantastic leader Korin!

I have used the adorable Cocoa and this stamp is part of the Cup of Cocoa set available from Sweet N Sassy stamps!  I believe he is also available as a digi!  Also, if you love Echo Park Paper like I do, Korin now carries it as well in convenient 6 x 6 packages!!

The Sweet Stop #82

Sweet Stop time is here, my fav day of the week!!  I am using the sweet lil mouse from Sweet N Sassy named Cocoa.  This image is from a set called Cocoa's Mittens.  I used the digi, but the clear stamp set is on it's way!

The paper is from the 6x6 Imaginisce stack Cottage Christmas, ribbon is American Crafts, snowflakes are Martha & ?? and the bling is i-rocks! Make sure you pop on by The Sweet Stop blog and check out not only the fabulous DT work but also the spotlight features from last challenge!

I am off to pick up my kiddos today.  They have had such a fun time with my Dad. I am going to sneak into Costco first though as I have a list of stuff I need a mile long, so I will do that and then go and have a bit of a visit before we head back home.

The Sweet Stop #81

It's Sweet Stop Sketch time!! This week I have used a super cute new set from Sweet N Sassy called You Light Up My Life.

This is such a cute little snowman!  I have used all CTMH papers and the sentiment punch is from SU!

He wanted a farm cake. The girl that looks after the dogs and horses when my sister and BIL are away just did a cake similar to this for her daughters 6th birthday and that's where the idea came from, so thanks Erin for your creativity!!  As you can see I didn't place the animals out before I wrote on the cake and I thought I had more room than I did, but oh well, he won't even notice I'm sure.  First he'll wonder about the fence because it is brand new and he doesn't have a fence like this yet and then he'll wonder when I snuck his animals away from him to put on here!!

The Sweet Stop Sketches #77-Happy Fall Y'All

Oh how I love long weekends! It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada so we are headed to my Mom & Dad's for dinner today with my family.

I have a sweet lil pumpkin to share with you though first.  It is sketch time over at The Sweet Stop and I have used stamps from the Sweet Pumpkin set for my card.

Papers are from Olivia by CTMH and flowers are from my stash...flower centers are my with i-Rock tool.

DDCC 86-Operation Write Home

I was contacted a while back by Jan from Operation Write Home asking if I would like to have our Dutch Dare blog participate in the birthday celebration of Operation Write Home.  I thought it would be a great idea to help get some cards made for the many US soldiers that are currently deployed around the world.  Now although I am Canadian and this is a US based program,  I jumped at the chance to help out.  I think it's a fantastic organization doing such a wonderful thing!  If any fellow Canadians out there know of a similar set up here in Canada, please let me know.

I went with a Thinking of You card, but all types of themes are always required: birthday, specific holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc), general, thank you, anniversary, love, etc.  My card is A2 size as well.  It felt funny to make a card this size, mine are usually 6" x 6", but there are some specific requirements when making  cards for OWH, so I made sure to follow them.

Here's a bit more about this fantastic organization:

Operation Write Home is an organization that sends blank handmade greeting cards for all occasions to deployed service members to write home on. They’ve mailed approximately 500,000 cards so far—and are still going strong! Our challenge to you is to make cards to send to them for our nation’s heroes.

Please read the basic guidelines here; it’s important especially to remember that glitter is NOT allowed (it’s a safety hazard to our heroes), handmade cards only, and OWH needs A2 sized cards. “Operation Write Home” needs to be on the backs of your cards—it can be stamped, handwritten, or printed on labels. Please include a packing slip inside your box or envelope, and mail them to any of their shippers listed on the Mailroom page. In your package, you can also include http://www.owhhomefrontblog.org/2009/09/anyhero-cards-q.html”>notes written to a deployed service member.

The Sweet Stop Sketches #73

I am so excited for this day!  Saturday my favorite day of the week!  Not only is is time for another great sketch from The Sweet Stop but I get to sleep in!!  Oh my goodness, getting up at 5:40am every morning sure gets to you by the end of the week.  Even if I only get to sleep in until 7:30 or 8, I'll take it!

So back to the other reason I love Saturdays is it's The Sweet Stop sketch time.  Here is my card for this week:

I am using papers from the exclusive Taylored Expressions appreciation kit (not sure what else to call it and thought that sounded good!)  which I just love...actually everything except the image and the half back pearl is from that kit.  The image is from Thoughts of You from Sweet N Sassy, be sure to check out the new Sweet N Sassy website too, it's wonderful and you could even get 20% off your next order, check the site for details.

Back to School-SSS70

That time of year is right around the corner for so many and already started for some.  Back to school is here, so it's rather fitting that the Sketch with a Spin this week over at The Sweet Stop is to incorporate back to school somehow.

Here is my card:

I used the back to school pencil holder image from Sweet N Sassy along with papers from the school DCWV stack, CTMH brads and misc cs.  I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week, as always the sketch is great and a fun "spin" today as well!

Kirsten starts grade 2 on the 31st and Landon will be starting kindergarten the same say!!  Landon is not so excited about school but Kirsten is counting down the days to see who her teacher is and to see all of her friends again!

I'm going to be an Auntie!!  I'm so excited.  My sister and her hubby are expecting their first baby in January and I couldn't be more excited for them...well of course me too.  So this card is for them and as we are away on holidays right now, I have already given it to them so I can show it without worry.  I can't wait to meet my niece or nephew!

Oh Saturday, what a wonderful day you are!  As you all know I think I'm the biggest fan of Korin's sketches at The Sweet Stop, so I'm so happy to be back with you to share another one with you!

This is Molly and she is so sweet.  She is available as a digi, but I just received the Thankful Molly clear stamp set that has the same image as the digi but it also comes with 4 great sentiments..and all for a wonderful price as well, so that's what I used here.  They ink up and stamp great, perfect the first time!

Playful Pup-SSS64

Saturday...already??  Wow this week flew by!  Time for another fantabulous (good word hey) sketch from The Sweet Stop!  I absolutely love Korin's sketches and am so thankful to be part of such an amazing DT!  

I have used one of Sweet N Sassy's fun digi images called Playful Pup.  All paper is from CTMH Topstich and I think it is my very favorite paper pack..love it!

My sister is coming out today for a visit and we will be off to town to hang out at the poll...30 degrees, what else is there to do!  Not that I haven't been at the pool enough  this week, but it's a brand new facility and the kids absolutely love it there!

Guess What...SSS63

I am so excited to say that I am a Sweet Stop Sugar Baby!!  I had the privilege of being a Guest Designer for the month of April and am now a DT member!!  I love Korin's sketches and I know you will to...here's my first official creation as a Sugar Baby...

I just love this paper from CTMH, such pretty colors.  The image is from Sweet N Sassy and is called Let It Rain.  I used one of the fun new 5x7 CB for the CTMH Juniper cs pieces and some CTMH Butterbup ric rac.  I also added liquid glass to the puddle she is walking through and the rain falling on her umbrella, etc.  

I hope you will join us and use this fabulous sketch!

DDCC #81-Flower Inspiration

First off, Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians!  I hope you have a great day celebrating our wonderful country!

Oh my we had a great DDCC last time, thanks for all the wonderful entires everyone!  So our new challenge is a fun flower inspiration picture courtesy of Loes and it's fun!  

Now instead of choosing to follow the color of the photo, I just went with flowers as my inspiration and this lil guy is holding on tight to a couple in his mouth..not to mention the other pretty flowers too!!  I love this sweet image from Sweet N Sassy and you can find it along with a ton of fun new clear stamps as well as digis that Korin has available.

All paper is from CTMH-Twittepatted and the ribbon is some gorgeous silk ribbon from Lacey's store Stamp and Create.
