The Sweet Stop Sketches #79

Sweet Stop Time!!  I just received my Magnolia fall 2010 kit and love it!!  I had to cut out this Tilda and the sentiment and get them on EZMount right away.  A nerd I know:-)

The paper is a fun steal I got a while back from Scrapbook Steals, it is We R Memory Keepers and the little candies are heavy weight stickers from the kit too.  I used some gun little silver discs and set them with my i-Rock and then the same with the rhinestones in the center of the candies.

The Sweet Stop Sketches #78-with a spin

Sweet Stop Sketches time again...and with a spin!  The spin this week is to make it sparkle. 

I have used soem more of this yummy new Bo Bunny paper and my fav Magnolias...favorite winter ones anyway.  

The green paper is actually Bazzil Bling paper, so it's sparkly already and then I added diamond stickles for the ice and of course the rhinestones are set with my funky i-rock tool.  I really love this Bo Bunny paper, it's called Winter Joy and I am totally loving the color combo!

DDCC #85-Vintage Summer

Vintage is definitely not something I would say I have a clue about...however, the best part of challenge blogs is just that...hopefully they challenge you!!  This week's challenge over at Dutch Dare certainly did just that.

I looked forever trying to find paper suitable for something vintage and finally stumbled upon some  Basic Grey...Thank goodness too as I really don't have anything else.  I went with a sweet Magnolia image and colored her with Prismacolor pencils.  It's been a long while since I've used those, so it was quite interesting to say the least!  I used Taylor's TESC 121 for my card layout..it was from a while back, but I thought it worked well with my circles!

After seeing everyone else's creations, I think I would change a few things about my card BUT, although I was frightened by this challenge as it's not my style so to speak, I really enjoyed it and I think the end result is ok!

Unscripted Sketches Guest Designer....me!!

***THIS IS MY SECOND POST TODAY, PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR MY SWEET STOP POST***

 I am so very excited to be today's Guest Designer for Unscripted Sketches!  Yay!!  They have a fun Christmas in July theme going on so I decided to take part in that and go with a winter themed card.  Well actually it's called Christmas in July on the Unscripted blog as they have something new to share every day!  

I used some fun papers I got in a Taylored Expressions grab bag pack so I'm not sure who the manufacturer is.  Of course Tilda & Edwin are so cute, you can never go wrong with them and I think this is one of my very favorite images.  The snowflakes are Spellbinder dies and MS punch.

My kiddos have been over at my Mom and Dad's since Thursday and I have enjoyed the quiet that's for sure...although it does seem odd without them here....Oh well, I'll finish getting the 5th wheel ready tomorrow and catch up on some DT cards before we go.  We don't leave until Friday, but Wed & Thursday are full days, so basically I need to be all packed and ready by Tuesday!  It should be close, I just need some groceries on Wed and I think we'll be set!

DDCC#80-Bee Happy, Just magnolia #59

Wow this week has gone by quickly!  Here we are in time for another fun challenge over on the Dutch Dare blog.  We enjoyed all the fabulous birdhouses from last challenge and can't wait to see what you do with our theme this challenge.  Monica has come up with Bee Happy for our theme and it's a good one. 

Here is my card...I used one of my dearly loved but often neglected Magnolias and one of my favorite CTMH paper packs, Boom Di Ada!

I followed this weeks Just Magnolia sketch my Mina.  I love these Prima flowers, so pretty!  

Kirsten only has 1 week left of school.  I am so excited for summer holidays.  We are busy, busy the first 2 weeks of July with swimming lessons and a summer day camp for both of the kids, but I am looking forward to hanging out and of course our annual trip to Sandpoint, Idaho, I can't wait!  

Next week is pretty much just a fun week at school for Kirsten with some local field trips planned for the kids and a Disney fun day that Landon and I are going to help out with, so it should be a super week.

Sweetness-SSS45, GS28, Lacey's Card Drive

I really like the sketch this week from The Sweet Stop blog so I thought I would play along.

It will also fit the "Spring" theme over at Get Sketchy.  I stamped Tilda and then masked her off and stamped the watering can.  All papers are from CTMH-Bella PP, Creme Brulee, Smokey Plum & Olive CS as well as CTMH ribbon.  I added some Kaiser rhinestones and Prima flowers.  I did leave the text off as I didn't really have any extra room.

This card is going to Margaret for her 100th birthday as part of Lacey's Card  Drive!   Wow, that is so awesome to be 100 and almost completely self sufficient.  I hope she has a fabulous day!!

Lance took the day off today to go to a longhorn sale and took Landon with him.  Oh my gosh, Landon is so excited, not only because he gets to go to the sale and see all the longhorns (he calls his play farm Longhorn Country) but also because Kirsten and I are going over to my parents and are staying the night so Landon gets to have a sleepover with Daddy too! It's going to be a great day for him!  I am looking forward to having a visit with my parents as well and I am going to a jewelry party tonight with my sister too.  Some shopping at Michaels and Costco and then we'll come home!

Open the Gate~DDCC#72

That's our challenge this week (Gate Fold card) on the Dutch Dare Card Challenge blog.  It's such a great option instead of a regular fold.  Here's mine...

This Tilda is from the Winter Magnolia Kit and I masked her off and stamped the flowers (Magnolia) in behind, once on each side of her.  All paper is CTMH and the pearl swirls are BG.

Oh my gosh Canada is rockin the Olympics...well today anyway, bronze for Clara Hughes in Speed Skating, Gold & Silver in Women's Bobsleigh, Silver in the Women's Relay in Speed Skating and a win for Canada vs. Russia in Men's hockey...woohooo!!! I really don't know what the heck I am going to do when the Olympics are over!

It's late and I need some sleep, so Ia m going to scoot, but will be back tomorrow night with my Prairie Fairy card!

Skating Tilda & Edwin-Wintery Wishes-Nov MCKC-CP#40

I absolutely love these papers, and fun colors!

I made this card using this weeks Card Pattern #40.  I used one of my very favorite images as well, skating Tilda & Edwin.  I actually need this card for some lovely people who donated money to our skating club and thought this would be a perfect fit.  Other than the image, the rhinestones on the snowflakes and the liquid glass (CTMH) I used for my ice patch, everything is from the November Monthly Card Kit. 

Our kids have today, tomorrow and Rememberance Day off school, so we are headed over to my parents for a visit today and then eye doctor, dentist appointemnts and the kids both get hair cuts tomorrow as well.  It'll be busy but good to get it all done.

Made With Love Tilda-MCKC#2

Wow a week sure flies by rather quickly! I honestly thought that after the first month and a half of school I would be into a bit of a routine and not feel so rushed all the time. Anyway, today is weaning day today here so Lance and his Dad finished sorting the cows and calves and took them to the auction mart. Well we had a straight liner here to take the majority of them, but they all didn't fit so Lance took a load in our stock trailer. Landon went along and was in his glory!

Anyway, onto my card for today.

This is my second creation with the beautiful Cherry Hill kit from the Monthly Card Kit Club. Although I didn't use the cherry paper that comes in the kit, I went with the apples instead as there was a cute little apple button in my DT package. The fabulous apple paper, the apple button, the red ribbon and the white and red die cuts are all from the kit. My sweet little baking Tilda, apple and the sentiment are all from Magnolia.

Here is sort of a side view shot to show the dimension. I popped up Tilda and the apples and added stickles to the red ribbon around the wooden spoon as well as the middle apple.

Magnolia-licious Project

I am totally sneaking in under the wire here, but I have been meaning to play along with this month's Magnolia-licious challenge all month long. I had a chance today to finish this cute little folder and love the result!

I used some great papers in my Taylored Expressions August Key Ingredients Kit.  The Primas, spacers, crystal Stickles and sisal ribbon are from my stash, the rest is from the August TEKIK.

Short and sweet post from me today, the kiddos are in the tub and Lance is in Calgary.  I will be back tomorrow though with my last **sniff** official card for Bunny Zoe's Crafts as my Guest Designer term comes to an end **sniff** , but trust me, I love Nikki's store and will be using products from Bunny Zoe's often!

Sorry I'm late with my Dutch Dare Card Challenge creation, but here it is at last. This week we are asking you to use your charms on your creation.

I used the great sketch by Nikki for this week's A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge as well.  The background of Miss Tilda has been sponged a very light yellow with the white border of the nestability showing, but I couldn't seem to get a proper picture of it.  I used 2 cute little Made With Love charms in place of an actual sentiment.  The dp are all My Mind's Eye, Just Dreamy and cs is SU.  Chocolate pearls, mini roses, burgundy sisal ribbon and lemon raffia lace are my embellies.

I really love this sketch, the fun layers and great elements, so I will be using it again for sure!

I am so thankful today is Friday.  I have skating registration tonight and after that I am hoping for a super quiet weekend.  This week has been non stop and I am looking forward to not having to be in a hundred different places.

Ice Cream Anyone? MTSC38

Mercy over at Lord Have Mercy has a wonderful sketch this week for her weekly sketch challenge and I thought I would give it a try.

I used this sweet Tilda with her yummy ice cream cone and the papers, flowers, candy dots and ribbon are all from the June Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit.  My lovely digi watermark is available in rubber at Bunny Zoe's Crafts.

I am starting a fitness class today with my friend Amy, so Landon and I are taking Kirsten to school int he morning and then headed to Brooks for my class.  They offer a daycare, so he'll hang out there with Amy's daughter while we are in the class and then off we go for groceries and some running around.   I am having a Silpada Jewelery party on Friday night, so I need some yummy goodies for that!

I finally come out from my laundry and house cleaning today to make a card that will fit a few challenges. First off, it is the July Magnolia-licious sketch, which can be found on the Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group or the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog. It will also work for the Just Magnolia challenge this week as well which is to use charms.



I used one of the sweet Tildas from the spring kit and added flower soft to her basket of flowers. All paper is from the Emporium packet from CTMH. I added some primas and spacers and then topped them off with some of BG's Opaline half back pearls. I used 3 butterfly charms and the same halfback pearls, just the smaller size.

Just short and sweet tonight as I am off to watch the rodeo and chuckwagon races from the Calgary Stampede!

Magnolia Birthday-Stamp With Fun #8

I need a few more birthday cards here in the next little bit, so that's what I made with the fabby sketch from my good friend Nikki who is the guest designer over at Stamp With Fun. Nikki's Etsy store Bunny Zoe's is also the sponsor this week, check it out!



I used one of the Tilda's from the Spring Kit and some more paper from DCWV. I really love the BG Bling It (rhinestones) and Opaline (half back pearls) embellies. Yesterday I used bling it in lilac/violet but today I have used Opaline in lilac/violet for the four corners and the flower centre. There is a bit of glitter in the 2 pp and then I added some to the flowers with my Spica glitter pens.

It looks like a gorgeous day out so far, so the kids are anxious to get out in the sandbox to play!

Just Magnolia #3

Just Magnolia Challenge #3 is a fantastic sketch from Bev. I used one of my older Tilda's but she is one of my favs.

I just used clear Dew Drops on my flourish and the top left side and lower right and they don't show up so well, but definitely look better IRL than in the photo. I colored the flower garland in her hair with my Spica Glitter pens and it shimmers oh so nice.

It is a fabulous rainy morning here so far...we need rain in a bad way out here in the boonies. The cows need something to eat, so the rain is nice so the pasture sets growing. Not sure how much it will amount to but it's welcome.

Good Sunday evening everyone! Wow, another week flew by. I finally had a chance to make a card today. I used the colors-Pink & Green from the Just Magnolia Challenge #2 and then Amy's sketch for the layout. I kind of added some extra layers and another flower, but I hope that's ok. I used one of the Magnolias from the Spring Kit, love this kit, such cute images!!

I used my new Label 4 nesties that I picked up at a LSS when I was in Calgary last week, so glad I finally found some!! All cs is from CTMH and pp from DCWV Girls Nursery stack. I added some flower soft for the "grass" and used bubblegum Shimmerz on her wings! Added some fun CTMH Sorbet ric rac, 2 lovely Primas with some spacers and a wee pearl.

We had such a fun time at the Hannah Montana movie, it was great. Kirsten and I went shopping earlier in the day and that was so much fun. I don't often get to do too much just Kirsten and I so it was a real treat for both of us.

I had a comment and a couple of emails asking for pictures of our calf, so after supper tonight when we went out to feed him I snapped a couple...here is Lostie after his supper was finished...Kirsten called him that and thinks that if he finds his Mama, she will call him Lost & Found!! Pretty good theory!!

Off I scoot for story and bed time for my kids, it's been a long week and Kirsten is back to school 3 days this week and T-Ball is supposed to start if the weather is decent, butit is supposed to snow tomorrow, so I doubt we'll be going to ball.

Our Thoughts Are With You

Unfortunately I need a sympathy card to send to my Grandma. Her very best friend passed away rather suddenly yesterday and she is so very sad. This is the card I made her and I hope it brightens her day a wee bit, at the very least to let her know that we are indeed thinking of her.



I used an older Tilda, but she is so sweet. I also used some Porcelain Basic Grey paper and chocolate satin SU ribbon. The sentiment is from Little Paper Shop. It started out with Amy's sketch, but I had to put my sentiment somewhere else, so it's not exact.

My gosh time flies. Kirsten only went to school Monday this week, so we have been busy just hanging out together. Crafting and blogging take a back seat when she is off school, so I am definitely behind! We had to go and pick up the Durango yesterday, it needed new brakes and an oil change and such and Lance had to go to Medicine Hat for work, so my FIL came with us and then drove our truck home. We went for ice cream at Dairy Queen and had a great afternoon.

We also have a wee baby calf that we are pail feeding...the kids named him Lostie and Kirsten thinks that if he finds a mama then she will call him Lost & Found!! Too cute!! We don't really know what the deal is with him, either he is a twin and his mama only accepted one of them or else his mama has no clue and didn't accept him at all. We tried pairing him up with who we thought was his mama, but that didn't work, so back int he barn he goes and we feed him!

Off I scoot, we are off to the city to visit Lance's Grandma and then to Okotoks to stay at my parents for 2 nights, so I won't be back until later Friday. I know we are out an about Saturday too, so hopefully I'll be back on Sunday!

Birthday Wishes From Tilda-Just Magnolia#1

Oh my, it's been a while since I've posted!! Saturday went very well, all the invitations are done and just need to be mailed...but the envelopes are here and my sister is in Calgary, so they will have to wait until Thursday when I meet up with her.

Just Magnolia is a new challenge blog out there and the first challenge is up and running with a fabulous prize. The first challenge is a sketch and here is my card for it.



I really love this sweet Tilda and this is definitely one of my favorite paper lines right now too!

Tilda & Flower Soft

I picked up a couple jars of Flower Soft last week when I was in Calgary and finally had a chance to play with it. It's great and comes is a wide range of fun colors. I bought 2 of the mixed posts, Sweet Pea and Fuchsia. You can get them online from Taylored Expressions, 7 Kids College Fund and All That Scraps.



I used this months Sheetload sketch for my layout and added some fuchsia flower soft to her basket of blooms! It's so fun and makes it look so pretty. Green would be funky for grass and brown, grey or black for animal fur, a light blue for some clouds or water, yellow or light tan for hay or straw, there really are so many fun things you can do with this stuff.

Speaking of straw, we finally have our first calf!! Hopefully one of these days the Mommma's will hang out a little closer to home and I'll get some picts. Landon is so excited for the babies to be arriving!

Keith Urban is coming to Calgary this September and I got tickets yesterday for Lance and I to go...ya a date night for us, just counting down until Sept 18th now:-) I got tickets today as well for Kristy & Jason too. It'll be awesome, I love Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum is opening for him and they'll be awesome. Lance and I did see Lady Antebellum in Vegas when they had a show on Freemont Street, but I'm thinking this will be so much better!
